Land Between the Lakes is a favorite. The Homeplace with its periodic quilt shows. The Bison range. And stretches of road with no one on them.

Yes that's a nice place I had some friends that took me there and now I fish Kentucky Lake periodically. I liked the Elk too.

Chattanooga is also a beautiful city. We have Rock City, Ruby Falls, Aquarium, The Southern Belle, Hang gliding, Raccon Mtn. Riverbend in June. Beautiful scenery with lookout mtn on one side and Signal Mtn on the other......check it out...think you will love it. We are also located near the famous Chickamauga Battlefields.

Thanks I was in your town years ago back in the miod 80s. Things were kind of slow then but I have heard it has really come alive again. I like the old history stuff also.

I like Cades Cove, at the time, when no one is there. You know, Sunday morning before town wakes up. The earliest I ever been there was 6:30 in the morning. Beautiful, peaceful, place to relax, or have a good conversation. Coming back to town, (Gatlinburg) a must stop buy, at any restaurant for breakfast.

Be sure to check out Dale Hollow Lake. It straddles the Kentucky/Tennessee border and is said to be the cleanest lake in Tennessee. The water is clear and amazingly warm this time of year. Many marinas offer rentals to make your stay comfortable. I just returned from a week's stay in a log cabin at Eagle Cove near Byrdstown. You can rent pontoon boats and jetskis and never see the entire 40,000 acres of lake. Take pictures!

lol...i was going to say, "My Place!" i won't say that...
the entire state is great: friendly folks and beautiful scenery. there's not a better state in the entire country...outside of the mainland...i choose Hawaii...
my hometown...lol
i like Newport: the Pigeon River and the French Broad River. Pigeon River is not so nice but the French Broad River tastes great! and as you know, 'is less filling'.
favorite place to splash around is in eastern Tennessee: Big Creek.

I like Nashville. The Nashville Zoo is amazing! It's awesome. Parents should take their children to the zoo on Halloween night. Free candy and prizes for the kids! Clarksville has a great museum downtown. A place to take the family after church on Sunday. It's free on Sunday.

Chattanooga has a lot to offer. I've lived here since I was little, but I find myself driving to other areas of the state for recreation. There are so many treasures to find just by hitting the road and taking off for parts unknown.

Yes good idea and just hitting the road has always appealed to me as you never know what your going to find even in the smallest of towns. I was in Chattanooga once back in 1985 on a 6 month road trip I took with a friend. We had a great time there but it happened by accident. I have heard from friends who live in Athens that the place has revived itself. I think I need to take another trip to see it.
