I have met men in person that i have met online and so far nothing. There is one that I email ALOT and that I'm very into. I haven't gotten to meet him yet but I am definitely smitten with him. Before you ask..distance is why we haven't met yet.

I think for some tho....they fall in love with the IDEA of the person from their emails. I'm very cautious to say that I love someone just from emails. Meeting in person is always a different ball game.

I have been fooled by several men from e-mails--I do think a phone call is a good learning experience---Just listen to what they are saying and you can usually rule out some from the phone call---but I have met several that I could hardly wait till it was over---Marjoy

I dunno. I'm kinda falling for someone I'm talking to. She doesn't know, and I'll probably never tell her. lol.

But the problem is we both have boyfriends. I'm open to a 3, 4 or 5 way relationship... but I'm not sure she is.

Plus she is goign through a lot. I don't want to cause her any more drama. n.n

If she's not into the multiple relationship idea then I don't think you should tell her. Things between you would always be awkward afterward im sure.

An e-mail relationship is, I think, a very poor substitute for the development of a real personal connection. Too many con men (and women) can promote themselves to be a persona that is not truly them. The only way to really know another's heart (and whether or not chemistry exists) is to look into their eyes, and hear their words without the arificiality of a keyboard.

I hope people that fall in love this way do a background CK....you can do that online also. Good luck and be safe

dont let yourself get twisted into that. It is possible to let yourself fall for someone but the fact is you DONT REALLY KNOW THAT PERSON. He or she could be Married or just wanting attention. I'v been there and done that lol. There are good people online but there are some bad one's. Dont put you heart on the line because of some great emails. Dont give up on it but just wait until you meet that person face to face. Then see how you feel.

I agree with all of the above but remember via email is simply another way of meeting people. People are "conned" when meeting people in a bar, through friends or anywhere.

I think you get a sense of that person through email too. Then talking on the phone enhances that. But one can be duped by anyone, at anytime regardless of where they meet.

Just look at the number of divorced and separated people on this site. If there was a fool proof way of meeting people none of us would be here.
