If you look at the women's profiles on CS, note the last time they logged in... many Texas women (for instance) haven't logged into their profile's in over a month (and the system gives no indication how far over a month it's been). They'll likely never log into CS again, so sending them messages is absolutely pointless.

Like so many other social networking/dating sites, CS doesn't appear to delete old profiles. I've never been able to understand why they don't purge abandoned profiles after so long... if somebody hasn't logged in in forever and a day, then they never will. But that's just my opinion.

I think definently think so bro!

Part of it could be that they abondoned their profile. But I think part of it is that most people think that's an acceptable way to show that you're not interested. I email guys all the time and don't get a response. I know they get mail but they don't respond...so obviously they didn't like something in the profile.

You have a lot of nerve talking about dumb guys. In the 3rd grade you should have learned basic grammar. Ever hear that a subject and verb need to agree? Did the dumb guys MESS it up? Your is possession - you're mean you are! For example because YOUR parents didn't bother insuring that you received an education YOU'RE functionally illiterate! No one is perfect but you've calling other posters dumb twice in your post. This is the poorest excuse for English I've seen in a long time.
I promise my 9 year-old can read and write much better. Take some adult education classes.

Note: Before questioning somebody else's education and grammer, please make certain of your own education and grammer first... and watch out for typos, they seriously undermine the point you're trying to make!

And honestly I sucked at college English Lit I and II classes... I think the instructors passed me only to get rid of me. LOL!

I said I wasn't perfect and was pretty upset that this person is calling others done, however there is a huge degree of difference. This guy can't even write a correct sentence for his headline, let alone any other sentence.

I think you came off a bit too harsh though. Yeah he made a typo in the subject line (among other places), but you and I both make mistakes also. Just because our mistakes are smaller and perhaps less important in nature, doesn't mean we should jump all over the OP for his.

Besides I kinda like it when other's make mistakes in their postings... it makes my spelling and grammar look that much better. Hehehe!

Finally, when you come down hard on somebody about their posting it makes for a hostile atmosphere that may discourage others from making 1st posts... nobody wants to be targeted like this!

Finally I do not see where the OP called any other poster on CS dumb. He was asking questions and posing possible explanations he thought might pertain to those questions. Nothing I haven't wondered about before myself before. Being a single male around here really suxs!

I agree that it would be nice to get a "polite" thanks, but no thanks, but not everyone does that - not just on this site. I try to respond to guys that take the time to write, and occasionally, I do make the first move. Women are not the only ones not to respond. I don't think a person's intellect is in question here, more their manners. I guess they figure if they don't respond a person will take the hint.

Just a heads up for all, If you run Mozilla rather than IE it spell checks as you type. This isn't necessarily a catch all but it sure can help. Also you are a lot less likely to get virus from a web site using Mozilla than IE. Mozilla is a free browser. Just Google Mozilla and the download page should show right up.

Don’t take their lack of response as an affront – rather take it as another one you weeded out in the search to find someone that is right for you. Also, both sexes do this.
I feel it is only common courtesy to reply to an email and let that person know you're not interested. Those who do not do so must not have any ethics or morals. They must not have common courtesy and leads me to believe that they are very selfish and don't care about others or their feelings. Or the other reason is they do not sign in to their account so they are not really interested in a relationship.

Well, like an earlier poster said, maybe they have abandoned their profile. You can check to see if someone has opened your emails. Go to the outbox and check. I also read that some people have hundreds of emails so they don't open them all.

Also, I would not exactly call the people that screwed it up as dumb. More like vicious. We open an email, read the profile and if it is nothing like what we are interested in...and it is obvious they have not bothered to read our profiles, then if we email them back thanking them and explaining politely that we are not interested and get a vicious response, we stop emailing people back.

After all, you stick your finger in the fire three or four times, are you going to continue putting your finger in the fire? If it is obvious someone has NOT read the profile or if they have any info either in their profile or in their email for contact outside of the site, I either delete it or call them liars if they claim to have read the profile.

Read the profile. Respect the info they have in there. Read your own profile. Many people do not remember what they wrote in their profiles. If your profile is way off from matching someone you have emailed, understand they are expecting that profile to be an honest rendition of you and do not respond accordingly. Many feel disrespected when people they are definitely not looking for email them.
