Ok..my friend is dating a guy for past two months.
They get on fantastically well together and i could honestly see a future with them..however,she is thinking about spending approx 700euro on his xmas present..

She thinks very highly of him as he does of her,but i think this is a lot of money to spend on someone she only met two months ago
dunno

I would like to hear your opinions on this and also what you think is an acceptable amount to spend on someone.
Thank you all. cheers

700 euro?
I'm sorry but that's obscene.
I'd spend no more than I'd spend on myself to be honest.
I think 100euro is fine and acceptable, anything above that to me is just wasteful.
Plus I view money as nights out, which bring me more fun than any piece of jewelry or a present. Well unless my fella is planning to get me a puppy or a kitten.

Agreed.
Anything more to me is just ridiculous.
Especially for a one off present.
The ONLY way I'd view 700 as OK spending is if it's for a holiday that both can enjoy.

700 euro is about 140 pints of beer!!! if you drink 10 pints a night, thats 2 weeks of solid drinking!!! what a waste of 700

It's an interesting topic, I have a dwindling cash supply and was also thinking of what's acceptable to spend on my boy.
All else fails I'll use my womanly woes! haha
