its the problem we have he plays same team all the time there is so many better players out there to be honest and robbie keane should never be that captain its going to be defensive over there and hope we can sneak one i think

ye he has been irelands greatest goalscorer and who pretty much gave him all his goals on a plate niall quinn all he does is throw his hands up in the air runs before the ball even comes to him so frustrating richard dunne is the captain of that team in my view

man sorry if im rude, but a statement like that to me means u dont have a clue.. how is the man supposed to score goals if he has nobody in midfield that can deliver the ball for him?? he has to come out to the half way line just to get the ball, that shouldnt be happening... kevin doyle is very good in the air so you cant say its because niall quinn isnt there.. so robbie keane is no good your saying??? why then did he score 4 goals in 1 match in the premier league this season?

You always have a chance in my eyes but for Ireland to win you need to start the Reid and Ireland in that midfield. Those 3 along with duff and you might have a chance.

Ireland have no chance in Paris
they should not even be in the play off as Given let in a goal that my little sister would have saved

if France can beat Ireland in Dublin they will hammer em in Paris

sacré bleu

well not much chance of that happening in the next 3 days in all fairness..

given is in the top 5 best goalkeepers in the world. you obviously dont watch the premier league too closely.. but i agree, ireland wont beat france in paris

have to agree with bdock here i don't think Keane's the ideal captain. Should be Given or Dunne instead. So frustrating when Keane complains all the time with his hands up in the air instead of chasing down the opposition and getting on with the game

if i were keane , id be pissed off too, having 2 planks in midfield that cant give him the ball.

I do watch the premier league and I support Liverpool I understand Liverpool are going through a bad patch but I have suported them for past 15 years so not going to stop now

as for Shay Given your right he is a top class goal keeper for his club but if you watched the previous game that sent Ireland into the playoff situation this great goal keeper let a goal in that my sister would save meaning he performs well for club = money not for his country = honour

I would like ireland to qualify but if the players dont show national pride its going to be "Roy Keane" all over again

he made a feck up, so what... did you see casillas for real madrid a couple of weeks ago? he let in 2 goals in 1 match that a blind man would have saved.. so i totally disagree with every word you said, the irish team showed plenty of heart, they just are not talented enough.

Keane's a good player, but if he didn't spend so much time standing still with his hands up in the air, it'd be better for the team. It's true he could get better support from midfield Andy Reid etc etc etc, but thats no excuse for his antics. Not ideal captain material in my opinion
