Isn't it just bloody typical of this government. Charging the for medical card perscriptions. Medical Cards are given to those less well off than most of us and the long term sick.

You cant tax your way out of a recession and penalising the poor isn't going to do much for you either YOU IDIOTS.

Look at the spending within the Health Service and get rid of most of the management and there's your savings.

negotiate a price for medicines with the pharmacuticals and where possible go for the generic product.

whats next a tax on :

shoes and socks and shirt and tie and all other clothing

on cracks which suddenly appear on middle aged men going bald

or even the whores nickers every time they fall.

And where is this misery 20million going? Oh sorry silly me it goes to fund the great health system this country has Governed by the exceptional HSE and created by our own wonderful health minister Mary Harney. Didn’t she do a great job in restructuring.

Its a disgrace, taking money off the weak and vulnerable members of society,, I dont normally agree with sinn fein but they have come up with some brilliant and fair ideas ,, like a cap of one hundred thousand on civil service pay, personally i think top earners wages in secure employment and paid by the state could easily be reduced to sixty thousand with the country in the state its in,,

Builders wages, those that are lucky to have work have seen their wages more than halved since the recession started.
Civil service are way overpaid for what little they actually do and the hours they allegedly work.

Listen during the boom time the Civil Service was laughed at sure I remember the jokes about the civil service christmas bonus which btw we dont get anything and the builders were getting our months salary as their bonus, I rest my case

That never happened , most builders are self employed and are paid on price for the work they do, no holiday pay, no bonus, have to pay your own insurance and pension,,
civil service is overstaffed and just way overpaid and that is where the government should make the cuts in my opinion.
