I met someone briefly the other day in passing,
he called me pet all the time.
I personally cringe at that, it's ok if i know someone well
but from a stranger ,it's a no no for me.
What are your views on this?, if you would like to share.

It all depends who's saying it.
Sometimes, I wouldn't even notice. Sometimes I give an internal shudder.
In shops here in the city, you could be called 'love' regularly by the assistants, but it is just a city thing and nobody takes any notice.
Babe wouldn't be my favourite, especially from somebody I don't know
But generally it doesn't bother me too much either way.
