quite agree bluebell. not replying to someone just because its electronic is no better than ignoring someone face to face - there's a human being on the end of that email. if i'm approached on the street, for money or to sign a petition or something i might be annoyed and i might politely decline but i wouldn't just blank them. can't believe people posting the circumstances in which they wouldn't bother to reply.

just down to how you're brought up i think.

that's a bit much! i dont reply to everyone who sends me flowers. why give something and expect something in return, thats not giving, thats waiting to take!!! i was brought up to give and not necessarily expect things in return and it has served me right so far! those i dont reply to are from kazakstan or are in their 60's! Are u saying i should reply to them too?

Got a few flowers sent to me on here. (cool considering I'm only here a couple of days) Haven't sent back a flower but have sent thank you messages and a couple of longer messages. Still finding it daunting to make first contact though. Guess I'm more old-fashioned or shyer than I thought.

dunno Is it shyer or shier... more shy sounds better confused

well of course if its obviously inappropriate normal rules don't apply but i see an email as a form of address not a present. if a man asked you to dance and he was 70 and 25 stone with bad breath wouldn't you still say no thanks rather than than just ignore him ?

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing reminds me of a night in our local hotel about 10 yrs ago.. some political do and there was a ceili band and my mum and dad got up to do one of the dances and when it came to changing partners my dad got this woman and she was huge now im a cuddly woman mylself but this woman must have been 23 stone and she basically threw my dad around the place... everytime he looked over at me he had this pleading look on his face.. have to admit it was the funniest thing i have seen and still makes me laugh when i think of it... poor man.. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
