I agree with the "lies do hurt" and without putting a spanner in the works, but personal lies i.e. between a partner or family isnt a good thing, but i do lie from time to time especially to my nieces and godchildren. The SANTA lie, the small little lies we tell to someone without hurting their feelings etc. Im not saying that lies hurt, in fact they do more harm to people emotionally than actual physical harm does, exceptions of course but you know what i mean.
A so called man spread a lie about a man i know saying he was molesting a child in the toilets at a wedding. It was totally WRONG and the accused was working with children at risk at the time. The accused was so hurt that he gave up his work and volunteering, told his partner that he would have to leave the area as so much suspicion was weighing him down.
The accused left the area for 12 months. The person who accused him, withdrew everything and has appollogised in the media and has never came back to the town. The accused was and still is somewhat sore about the whole affair and was able to return to work with the children and people he really sought to help, but it took a long to regain trust and numerous internal investigation completely and totally equited him of everything. he even offered to take lie detector and truth agents to exonorate him.
So when we hear of lies, lets remember, little lie or being economical with the truth isnt the end of the world, but personal and people lies are crinimal and HARM MORE THAN JUST ONE.
jesus was i on a rant there, me fingers are sore typing hahaha.
