Why not believe in themselves?

Someone's always taking a poke at someone else in one way or another and tring to rule over them. If people truly believed in themselves, it wouldn't be so easy to be misled.

Yeah absolutly im with you on that.

Personally i know myself and what i can do and it good enough for me.

But its the uncurable human tendancy to explore and question. Now i find myself thinking is Death the end ? Is that all there is to life ? This is where spirituality comes in. Meet with others with the same view and the next thing you know your in a cult or god forbid going back to mass.
But like you said it all comes down to your own strength of character. "Gods" gift of freedom of choice grin

Are some religions partly responsible for this? Most religions have a tendency to preach that there members are "unworthy" of something. In the Catholic mass there is the part before communion "Lord I am not worthy to receive you..."

They tend to preach that if you don't do this or that you are not good enough.

It is human nature to either lead or be led.

Or you could nip in to the new gym just opened in Corkguys bunnyboiler thread.

Mind you there are more benefits for the ladies but men might enjoy hearing the details.

Been a while since I read about this but it seems it is human nature to be led. Also very few true leaders ever want to be leaders, instead they are forced into that position by people around them.

Do you think so? Maybe in some cases.

I think a lot of leaders choose that road themselves. Sometimes its a power thing and not necessarily for the greater good. Although an effective leader may convince people, for a time anyway, that it is for the greater good. Hitler comes to mind.

Lot's of people want to be leaders but they rarely have the talent. From studies I have seen it does seem that true leaders are reluctant. I guess they are the first to get the bullet when anything goes wronglaugh

A lot of people believe that Hitler was what the German people wanted at that time. An interesting debate probably worthy of it's own thread though. If a leader in say politics represents the majority of people who elected him, what does that say about the people?

If the leader chooses to be a leader and forces himself on the people he is a dictator.

The more I learn about how people define their own Spirituality, although it does seem to have lots of Religious type references, this could merely just be a learned language, is that each person does seem to have their own take on it.

I would think this to be very healthy, and indicative of people who think for themselves on the deepest level.
