definatly irish met a czech guy in a bar in prague a year or two ago he had fluent irish he learned it from books during the communist regiem i was so embaressed as he had more irish in his baby finger than i had.

Well there now theres a great idea for a get together I never went to the Gaeltacht as a kid and have always wanted to go, do they have weeks away for adults as well. That would be a great session.

CS as Gaelge maybe we should have a thread in Irish.conversing

i always wanted to speak irish, and my kids will defo go to an irish speaking school

just in school i dont think enough emphahsis was put on using it

Irish was not made interesting as a subject in school. Most of us will have been forced to study Peig.

Talk about BORING. All the woman did was wash floors and dig potatoes!!!! Or did she do more but I was asleep for the rest of the book? The book was one long drawn our whinging session.

I was in Galway last October and was sad to learn that the Irish language will be a thing in the past with in the next generation.

I speak spanish!!!! its pretty handy. Id love to be able to speak chinese though..... difficult to master.... but handy when orderinga curry on a sun night when the girl in the take-away does'nt understand a northern accent lolpeace
