Morning, unfortunately this scamming is not only in russia, also in thailand, phillipines, and almost anywhere else in the world and there is no dating site that can stop them.

There are about 8 million women in the Ukraine between the ages of 20 and 40.

Not all of them will be married or in a relationship.

Not all of them want to stay in their disorganised (compared to the UK) country.

Not all of them are dishonest.

Not all of them live in Odessa - with its' reputation for Mafia.

Not all of them will ask you for money, or ask you to take them "shopping" or to the most expensive restaurant in town.


Some of them will be just like you and me: simply looking for a decent person to share the rest of their lives with.

hi of course lots of people in the ukraine want a decent life and not all of them are scammers but i say there are lots of scammers coming from there, no doubt, if you want to take the risk fair game go head and i hope works out for you, but heres a tip if your in ur 40s and girl wants to marry you and she is 21 right whats she after ? your or your passport, now if ur in your 20s you might get a gorgeous girl there but you run the risk of getting dumped, you can get a lovely girl in the uk or any where in europe, eu wise or america, you just never want to take the risk, I have been out with a russian girl in my 20s and i tell you this its a big gamnble, she eventually married a english guy and move to canada so i wonder if they are together now, i bet not.

You're probably right, and I hope you are. But why would someone want to leave their homeland, friends and family and settle for a stranger in a strange land-unless of course it's somewhere where they like lots of foreigners and take care of them, like we do here. And that's often above our own.

I got in touch with a Russian girl last year. Did a Google search on her name and you guessed it, her name wasn't Anastasia lol! Even had her passport picure there to warn others. And like on here, the giveaway is when they never use your name and because that "...I like your structure..you are the wonderful man..." story has been spammed around the net for years.

I remember saying to her no way would I want to go and live in Russia, and that goes without saying for about 99% of guys.

Oh, and be sure if you do correspond, to ask lots of questions. The spammers won't know how to answer and ignore them *But be warned, they play on your thinking it's the language barrier. Clever scum.

It can work, but I'd say it's rare. But it wouldn't stop me from being friendly with a foreign girl, so any of you reading, please don't think we're all cynical.

I'm sure it's a numbers game mate. It's gut wrenching to find reams and reams of mediocrity isn't it. Trouble is, many of them like the bad guy; the beast. That's why they say 'you're too nice'. What good would they be to us anyway?

But you can find love or friendship (which is better as you have to be friends with your spouse for it to work), in the oddest of places and times. I've struck up something with someone on here already and she's great..but she's easy to meet up with because she's not 5000 miles away!!

You don't need a detective job to find out if they are a scammer or not.
Still, I thing there is some genuine people who deserve a chance.
Any one is innocent until, it is proven they are guilty.

True you don't need a detective agency, but it's useful for those not versed in the scams. They prey on the lonely and obviously well off who actually fall for them.

Personally, I knew when she didn't answer my questions. Simply gave her the truth and asked her how she could sleep at night.

Who knows, she may even repent.
