I think it is called the 20 years older syndrome?

You come on a dating site, you have many choices; you join other sites your choices are expanded,,, suddenly you start thinking well I don’t like the style of his hair, well his eyes are tooo close together,, her teeth look crooked, until 20 years later, you are still here looking for Mr or Mrs right???????????????

I do not come on these sites very often, maybe once every two weeks or so, I believe sites like this are eroding away people’s ability to actually communicate effectively in a social environment.

I have always said you can tell a hell of a lot by looking into somebody’s eyes; And you can’t see into somebody’s eyes on a dating site.
You can read there words, but anybody with a modicum of intellect, can effectively portray themselves in something as short as a sentence.
In the right environment, and with the right audience, any person can fool anybody.

Games can always be played when there is no visual and animated representation of the player to evaluate?

I know what you mean, it does seem some people are just chatting for the hell of it and i wish people would realize that talking about sex with a complete stranger is a turn-off: if they want that why dont they go onto a pure sex site cause otherwise they are javascript:emot('confused');
confusedmasquerading as wanting a relationship when they dont.confused

I fully agree; there are plenty of 'playgrounds' out there for chatting about anything and everything.
Of course, it is necessary to chat first before dating but my impression was that dating sites were for dating and the sex forums were for talking about sex, web-cam sex etc (yep, I've been to a few and have many friends there) but I would like to meet someone special and I had rather hoped C.S. would help me out but this seems to be another forum site where young guys can chat up older women etc, then disappear again if they don't get cyber-sex.

I, too, am now guilty of just chatting willy-nilly as I get hurt far too easily .........
sigh

No, the young guys on here chat up the older women, and DO get cybersex and then disappear, if they don't get cybersex they stick around and chat up the next older or younger woman, in fact some of them have even been known to chat the emoticons up mumbling

Sorry to hear about your mishap, I hope you are okay. And, I hope the flooding is contained away from where you live; I hate to think of anyone whose house or flat gets flooded, it must be heart-breaking.
