I've been somewhat out of 'the loop' for a while, and now find myself referring to the age-old question of what to wear when going out on that first-date.

It always used to be - in my younger years - a case of nipping off down to Burtons, buying new trousers and a shirt, smothering myself an inch thick in aftershave and going for it. doh

I know also that it would vary from age-group to age-group, but across the board generalization is what I'm looking for here. help

Go in your ex's dress, walk into the venue/meeting place and announce in a proud and happy voice "I'm a LAYDEE"

Casual trousers, nice cotton shirt (tucked in) good leather belt with matching colour shoes. Gotta be honest tho, my preference would be a man in a kilt. rolling on the floor laughing

I could not wear a kilt because I don't have the build for it. It would look like birds legs hanging out a nest.

Burtons it is then! - rolling on the floor laughing

But sadly, the thought of a fresh sea-breeze swooping from the south precludes even the very notion of kilt-wearing

Thanks for the advice - duly noted wave

Sadly - as of yet, there is no date on the horizon crying

I am just wanting to prepare myself should the opportunity present itself

And wearing a Kilt south of the Border is not generally a good idea - especially here in Yorkshire!

If there is EVER a CS meet in Scotland, invite me and I will show you the sights I frequent. I'll show you the bookies, the police station, the court and the Ann Summers.

I cannot...My carer is reading it out to me. She is using a whole host of tools, including fuzzy felts, to convey what is being said!

Will try and fix the dates with work, and as i say, if I can, I will

Already found somewhere to stay - so will just have to wait and see

Hi all... all of my recent first dates regardless of age have worn nice jeans and a casual shirt. It keeps things relaxed

By all means sign up for the Glasgow event, it promises to be a good laugh.

Bubbles, can't wait to meet you...

cheers
