It always used to be - in my younger years - a case of nipping off down to Burtons, buying new trousers and a shirt, smothering myself an inch thick in aftershave and going for it.

I know also that it would vary from age-group to age-group, but across the board generalization is what I'm looking for here.

ocean_1: I think it depend on what which type of guy you are.
If you are a office guy, you feel confortable in office suite. Otherways a nice jean, pair of trainers and T-shurt.

Zellarrone1: If it's going to be an hot first date. I wear as little as possible as it won't be staying on for long

If it's going to be a bit of date I usually wear my best overcoat and hat and end up looking
