It will be very very close I think, there are good and bad points for the two contenders but one for me shows a calming influence, a fresh of air that maybe just maybe will create a better place, if he has the right advisers of course, and that will be reflected though out the world, America has such a huge power and affects us all one way or another.

I sat up and watched the results and I was moved by Barack Obama's acceptance speech. The world is ready for a change of policy and the Americans have shown him the way.Good luck to a very brave man!peace

I believe all Americans were faced with choosing one of two men that both had to overcome major obstacles. Neither one is what the US really needs. Preaching change and showing you follow through on your commitments are 2 completely different things. I have always believed in the "proof is in the pudding" mentality. Not a "do as I say, not as I do" attitude.

Regardless of my thoughts and opinions, the American people have chosen and the changes coming our way should be interesting. I sincerely hope Obama proves me wrong and steers our country into a direction that is for the better. We need it!

I guess it's just another reason I should go to school in the Scotland!!! grin

I never thought I'd live to see the day America voted in a black president!

What a turn around that country has gone through in a very small amount of time.. What I mean is the Blacks were first allowed to vote when Obama was 4.. And now he's the daddy!

President of the day or any day... Like the sound of that! What exactly is it meaning though?

I think this is the 'change we need',the new cabinet that Leisure 07 has got lined up,for when he deposes Gordon Brown, and becomes President For Leisure.

Out,with the boring old remits, of Minister For Defence,Minister For Health,Minister For Housing, etc, etc.

And In,with his new, refreshing, innovative, and ground breaking portfolios for Presidents.

SB,you say you have a less than comprehensive grasp of the nature of your new responsibilities,as President Of The Day. So,it looks as though some things will never change.
