We met on a dating site and corresponded for a little while. Then we went out to lunch and had a pleaant time. He brought me back home, came in, looked around the place and said it was very nice.

He said that had just gotten divorced and moved back to Illinois. He complained about his apartment being bare, he was still looking for a job, his ex huge fat wife weighing 150 pounds -so do I mind you but I am tall- said he would be very comfortable at my place and that he could easily get use to have BBQs here often.

The following day, he called. He had made plans for me to BBQ for us and other plans that included me catering on him.

Hey, after I took care of a sick husband for 13 years, I was not about to cater on a healthy man no matter how terrific he was. If anyone needed some TLC it was me.

Yes, my comments are that a needy person will always be needy; they're like leeches - it feels like you have to peel them off.

I ended a 3 1/2 yr. relationship once because he got too needy - wanted me to "fix" him when he was "struggling" which seemed to happen every weekend (you see, his wife of 44 yrs died on a weekend 5 yrs. ago; he (said) wasn't eating unless I invited him for a meal; he would also meet with 3 different "friends" during the week and they would buy him "lunch" also ...you get the picture.

It got too suffocating, I didn't have any personal space; he knew my schedule better than I did & would knock at my door...

When you first see too much neediness, just leg go, FAST - you won't get anywhere with that kind of person, they're totally selfish!

That's my opinion and I'll stick to my story. Have a good day, y'all & Take Care.

As i say. it was flattering at first. she had come from a loveless marriage and i think she craved the attention. To the point it drove me away. As you say..peel them off. lol

YEAH, same thing happened to me...at first it was WOW, HOW SWEET IS THIS????????/

but when I ws SUFFOCATING...it was time to "beat it"......

WANTING is a nice thought but needing is just too damn emotionally consuming....
