The audacity to refer to woman, or lack thereof, as a supply and demand issue - I just needed to say that women are not a commodity; and it is very insulting to be referred to as such. I am amazed at your apparent NEED to be worshiped and am not surprised that you have been unable to find a Canadian woman who is willing to bow down to a man of such quality, substance and integrity as yourself .

JMO, sometimes people are all for the idea of the special someone, but unconsciously (or unknowingly), have a brick wall that prevents them from finding that someone.

JMO, sometimes a person has to change themselves (heal the wounds from the past) to be able to meet that special someone.

My comment also had to do with watching so many people look for that special someone, but have an idea (list of qualities etc) that they want their special person to have. It's just my point of view, but that list might be unrealistic. It does not mean to just settle. It might be because I do not believe in fairy tales. My special someone is not perfect, but neither am I, but we are perfect for each other, and willing to work at our relationship.

I've seen so many meet someone; their hopes and dreams take over instead of facing reality and what that person really is like. Hurt and disappointment happens, and they get discouraged.

My comments are not made at everyone, but about people that have unrealistic expectations. It's easy to meet people on line, then set in your head what they are like, and then meet them in person and you find they are not what you dreamed up.

I guess in a long winded way I'm trying to say, "BE OPEN MINDED, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT MIGHT BE RIGHT UNDER YOUR NOSE." There are no Prince charmings or Knights in shining armor ... that knight in rusty armor might come with lots of dints, scars and not the most handsome, but he might come with better qualities than expected. Same goes for that queen, or princess...

Anthony7: The world has changed. I don't think your asking for too much. I would travel if I were you and see that not all attitutes are the same as here. There are places where you are appreciated respected and needed.

Its a supply and demand problem around here.

littlewonder: It isn't that I haven't met anyone from either site, but after being with one person for a year and feeling everything was going fine, just not to speak or hear from them! I guess in that respect I've lost faith.

I've been dealing with this all my life and so it is no big deal, all I'd like is someone to have as a friend.

I believe in all that great stuff but speaking for myself, I think that as I got older, my expectations of having what you mentioned became more concrete and yet, not too many men are able to offer it...well, some of the ones I met....

I think that the internet is sometimes over-used and thus, many (may it be guys OR girls) take this avenue moreso in meeting rather than sitting with a cup of coffee and a night full of great conversation....it's like I am getting to thinking that many find it easier to sit in front of a screen and type to their hearts content rather than meet in person

I dunno buddy...still tryin to FRIKKEN figure it out myself...

KHD100: Some of us that came into the forums felt the same way. JMO.. the forums are a good way for others to get to know you. Be yourself and if someone does not like it... that is their problem. JMO, only time not to post something might be if it was to belittle, done to hurt someone, and racist. For the most part we try to keep our forum friendly and comfortable for others to use.

There have been a few times someone did post something offensive and from time to time they have been put in their place.

As stated in a previous post, you might make some friends ... and what you get from them, might get that special someone to take notice of you.

KHD100: JMO, sometimes people won't find that someone because they are so busy looking for their fantasy (and might have unrealistic expectations), that they might not see that special someone.

dreams101: I just don't understand why its so hard to find someone that you can be friends, love,hold hands with, be silly with, and spend the rest of your life growing old and loveing eachother? Maybe i am asking for to much?
It feels like i'm in a whole differant world with a new set of rules and alot more head games. Is there anyone looking for that specal someone out here

runner1958: I think we spend too much time behind our computers because there is more to communication then just words. I find body language and non verbal communication very interesting and a necessary part of getting know someone. I find people have preconceived ideas of who am before they meet me, that is why I like to meet asap. But the person who interests me now is insecure about himself. I think he is scared I will not be interested once I meet him. I am not a snob just because I'm university educated and professionally employed. If I fell in love with a ditch digger It would not bother me as long as he accepts me and meets me as an equal.

Nice to meet you. Let me see if i read this right your saying to judge the book by its cover before you read it, as the saying goes.Would you not try to be a friend to him? Can you explain to me what you mean by " he accepts me and meets me as an equal". I do beleive we have out grown that and even though we are differant,we are equal as people JMO.

eyesthatknowwhy: Well start making them...I am sure I have hurt someone's feelings, haven't meant to, but in life we all need to grow thicker skin - I have. Stupid? Oh well, we all have moments and have had - go back and read some of the past posts....I have been stuck in dumb at it's best! The point is, we all support each other, through the good, the bad and the ugly. We grow, become more confident, learn about ourselves and others. And all of those traits make it easier to meet someone and develop a relationship. Men are attracted to women who know who they are, who like themselves, who are confident to say what they want and what they like...you can make friends here and you will meet someone, maybe not here, but you will...when you believe in yourself; when you believe you can Believe me...I know - and so do others So, welcome little

runner1958: Hi, I have expressed myself in light of comments from the gentleman that suggested I was too good for him. We may all be equal but we still for the most part struggle with being involved with people out of our class. Most middle class people would feel some discomfort in the company of the rich and famous etc.
As to Reading peoples body language has nothing to do with the cover. people respond to their thoughts in jesture and eye movment. They say a lot more than they know in person. Lies come easy behind a computer, you can be anyone you want to be. But the eyes are the window to the soul.
