Waking up to a sad day.
I don't think many people just wake up to a sad day and normally I don't. But today, after making morning coffee and sitting down to read CNN news delivered to my email, a story shocked, repulsed and deeply saddened me.
It was about a young 11 year old boy who was a bright young handsome guy. Got all A's and B's in school. Had a caring and loving family. A kid that had a lifetime ahead of him.
He came home from school the other day, was beaming when he handed his mother his report card and then went upstairs to his bedroom until dinner. His mother and sister both called up to him when dinner was ready and he did not answer. So his sister went upstairs to get him and what that young girl found, no sister should find ever. She found him hanging in the closet dead. He hung himself. He had gotten tired of it and had enough.
He was a victim of bullying at school. After a lengthy period of time being called names such as 'gay' 'the virgin'. because he was from the Virgin Islands and ugly and a host of other names, he had enough. He did tell his mother, she did tell the school and nothing got done about it or nothing effective was done about it. So because he was tired of it, this young man thought he had no other escape than to hang himself.
I guess we do it as children and as adults as well. Say words to people and never knowing really what kind of impact they may have. We put on this brave smiling face, just as he did, yet inside of us those words cause little stabs of pain and hurt. And in some cases, we crawl away to a closet and hang ourselves.
It is a sad day.

This was so sad to hear. It is amazing how mean children and adults can be to one another. I breaks my heart to hear stories like this. There is too much of this going on, you would think something could be done about it.

Can you imagine if all were sensitive like you
The word bully would not exist
