I wouldn't ask for proof as even an online relationship requires an element of trust. But where there is hesitancy, say, for a meeting or if he/she is demanding more than you feel comfortable giving at this point, you can pretty well tell where you think the relationship is going. I say, follow your own instinct but don't make yourself vulnerable.

You can't be too careful about guys you meet on these dating sites,there are guys that will sweet talk you into anything,especially if they know you a single mom and know that you don't too much without your kids. Us single mom have to be extra careful, Believe me ladies I just had an experience of been sweet talked by a guy on this site and got burned bad.

It is impossible to tell online who is really sincere, because there are lots of smooth operators around. Trust your instinct at all times.

I am in a serious on line relationship at the moment...Apart from all the obvious ones that he tells you about himself his life ..dosnt hold back...

If you can be honest and maybe disagree but the feelings are still there ...

If he is willing to show his love for you to others for instance if your on the forums and he acknowledges to others he is with you.... Thats a major sign of honesty...Also if you do the same

If both parties put on there profiles they are not looking because they have found someone another sign thats its true.

As soon as you bring boundaries of any kind(needing to know) in your mind you are now hoping, meaning there must be some negative thoughts involved.

Since the realization that we cannot control others actions, so they can not hurt me life has been seamless, incredibly joyous and doubt doesn't exsist. Now just to find someone else comfortable enough in their skins to believe the same thing.

You have to trip over a few relationships before you finally stumble upon the right one.

I just thought that maybe once the person is showing himself or herself proofs of different things, he or she is being true to you and sincere...Even though in the past, there was some misunderstanding becoz of cheatinng online...or can you call it cheating if it is happening only online?.... ...

I never know if the online relationship is serious or not.
Usually time gives me an answer.

You develop a feeling for who is fake, and who is real.

And yes, I like the idea of having a proof of her identity.

I don't think you can ever really know. But it's the same in real life too.

I'd just ask, and if they say yes they're serious, then I take their word for it.

You have to be able to trust the other person, if you don't, there's no chance. No proof neccessary, other than open, honest communication.

I did, I do, I do, and continue to too, talking, and quite happy about it.

I can’t possibly know whether my counterpart is serious or not, whether he means what he says and how much of what he says is true… But it is the same from his point of view, I guess: as he doesn’t know me, he cannot evaluate what is true and what is false in my words.

And you never will know until you’ve met in person and spent some time together…

You just have to take some risks, rely upon your intuition (or the lack of it), and have some luck… as simple as that.
