Good luck with that ........ I've heard many stories of people who have the education and background to pursue a particular field and that when they get to Canada their past experience/education is not recognized so they end up with menial jobs.

Truly our government needs to address these issues when we have people who are qualified as doctors, dentists etc. working in restaurants or some such career instead of what they were trained for. Its such a waste of talent and experience.

I agree with you but to a certain point. People who immigrate here with qualifications from their country to work in such fields as medicine (medical doctors, dentists, etc) can work in these fields once they acquire our qualifications. Depending on their country of origin, their degree they will have to pass certain tests here and may have to return to study in our faculties to obtain the same qualifications and practise Canadians are required to obtain to work in these fields here in Canada.
I'm not referring to any country in particular but in some countries acquiring certain qualifications has to do more with who you know than what you learn and are capable of.

I suggest you move to Dundurn Saskatchewan .. it is small and I can help you with settling in, I can get you a job in the armed forces. Nothing like canada right off the bat. There are lovely farm girls in the region who love newcomers. You have your passport ready and all! The housing is free on the army base and the education is free .. they get you up to speed on the Canadian culture which is very relaxed. Where are you moving from?
Anyhow, you are welcome!

I would suggest that perhaps you research some of the major cities who support a strong financial district; such as Toronto and Vancouver. From there, research those cities and base your decision on what area meets your personal criteria. Both cities have much to offer, as does their surrounding areas and provinces...but they are very different. I am guessing that being from a climate such as Jordan's, you would probably love Vancouver; it has everything you could want, and has a large and active Muslim community canada You can find out alot about Vancouver, British Columbia on the internet!!! Good Luck
