The Buffalo Theory
(In one episode of Cheers, Cliff is seated at the bar describing the Buffalo Theory to his buddy, Norm. I don't think I've ever heard the concept explained any better than this....)

"Well you see, Norm, it's like this...A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the lowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.
In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm is why you always feel smarter after a few beers."

Do you drink alcohol?

Ourself: Do you drink alcohol?

There is no denying that habitual and chronic ingestion of larger amount of alcohol have very serious and irreversible effects of the human body and mind.
I don't drink alcohol; I have, sometimes lots, sometimes little...regardless I made a conscious decision to no longer allow anything to control anything about me, mentally, physically, emotionally....anything that changes one's sense of self or alters their mind in any way.
I have seen the effects, short term and long term, from THC. There is no way that anyone, if they had witnessed how sick my son was, could deny that "just pot" does not cause serious and far reaching damage...The level of THC in pot today is capable of triggering permanent psychosis and in young males there is a proven and consistent connection to THC and drug induced schizophrenia.
Cannabis also has the ability to stunt ones emotional and mental development at or about at the age where one started chronically smoking. Thus, you end up with 40 year olds who may emotionally reason and have the sense of logic of a 16 year old...Try being married to that; try having a discussion or reach a compromise with someone who reasons like they did when they were 15? Better yet...watch someone who reasons like a 15 year old try to parent; It doesn't work, they are not capable; they can be a great friend and buddy, but not a parent.
These are my opinions, based upon very personal experience and alot of education about this subject. I know many will not agree - good for them, but don't you dare go down my throat for believing what I do and speaking my mind...each to their own.angel

I'm guilty of drinking alcohol. 1 or 2 beers every few months, wine 2 times this year at a friend place. Other than that I have no interest.

Hey, I wouldn't try to tell you what to believe but I have never seen anybody hurt by smoking pot. You cannot lethally overdose and I have never heard of anybody dying from it.

Furthermore, I have never seen anybody regress in mentality to that of a 15 year old from pot smoke. There must have been underlying problems already.

That pot can cause psychosis is not factual, sorry.

It may bring out some psychosis but it does not cause it.

If you don't like it, that's ok but try not to go overboard with the demonizing. It's misleading.

We distroy our organs in many ways with other things too. Pollution in the air is a killer but it's all economics. Drugs also put a lot of money in the wrong hands. What if everyone used drugs? We would be sitting ducks for every deviant country to invade us and take over.

Drugs bring out the best and the worst out of people depending on their blood type and upbringing. Pollution has always been around. We evolute with it.

United states would never allow canada to decriminalize let alone legalize thats why it is illegal here . going back as far as 1972 the Le Dain commission recommended decriminalization

Ummm, cannabis has been decriminalised, in smaller quantities.

Since when does the US dictate what goes on our country? I realise our politicians are more or less all spineless simps, but we're still a soveriegn state.

Sooner or later pot will be legalized no matter what the law is. The hypocrisy of government shows how alcohol is taxed to death and yet they say it's addicting. On the other hand, pot is also addicting like alcohol, yet is outlawed. Most people use pot responsibly.Secret use by those who outwardly deny using pot need to come out of the closet, including such users as religious folks and politicians . Legal aspects of pot use all depends on the number of votes these politicians get from self-righteous political supporters with holier-than-thou attitudes and politicans with a personal agenda.
