I can't really answer that question as I've never had them! Only know of one restaurant in the Langley area that had them on the menu but it was a pricy place to eat so it wasn't first on my list. Around here in Westlock/Athasbasca not much to even choose from for restaurants and tapas aren't on any menus!

Going home soon to B.C.!! dancing dancing Are you having any summer holidays and if so, where are you going??

Fall season is when I pick my crabapple tree and make the crabapple jelly for friends and neighbour. It is very good on toast.
Question..
Have you tried microwaved corn on the cob?

Yep, do my corn in the microwave. Must cut off the stalk end and remove a few of the outer leaves. 6-min for two cobs. Slide the leaves of the cob. Best thing is that the hair comes off with them, no more having to pick the hairs off the cobs.

The town I am from(Taber) is well know throughout Alberta for it's corn. It has a yearly corn-fest(Fair) and corn-stands pop up all over with vendors selling corn to the public.
Q: Do you have any fall fairs or celebrations in your area that center around locally produced crops?

Yes, we have a harvest fair in September and tomorrow I am going to a Garlic Festival in Lac la Hache with my Mom. There is music, vendors and many varieties of garlic. There will also be a master garlic cook off. Lots of food available too.

Have you ever on the spur of the moment when you're on the road just go somewhere you haven't been? Whether it be a recreation site or a town.

oh kennn, there are so many things to do here in the autumn. my favourite time of year.
4x4ing, long strolls along the beach or hiking up the mountain, sitting by the fireplace in the evening, cozy dinners, making soup and good old fashioned hearty dinners, baking, catching up on the indoor chores disregarded in the summer, having friends over for dinners, it's a long list and i think you get the idea....

but...

i'm gonna go with getting new boots..
grin laugh

When it's about my family, best friends and a special someone.

How long ago is it that you met someone you really liked (romantically)?

I was forced into early retirement after 38 years of service to healthcare and now it's "me" time. I have no plans to work again but to simply enjoy my freedom. Do you have any special plans after you retire?wave

Hi Deb,I do think lots about retirement and don't know if it is all what it is cut out to be. After working in the Masonry trade all my life I find i get very restless when I have too much time off. I think as long as my health stays with me that I just might only semi-retire. I can then still enjoy the benefits of working as well as the down time that retirement is all about.teddybear bouquet

I'm a big Star Trek, Star Gate etc. fan. Last series I liked was called "Grimm".

If money wouldn't be an issue, would you still go out working?
