Well I can't answer for all, but I look at both.
And also what they are looking for if friends. long term, E-Mail/Chat.
Lets be honest if you have nothing in common, from there it does not matter what she looks like

I look at the pick first then I read the profile if there is no pic I still read there profile and then send them a message and ask if they could please send me a pic of themselves
Reading the profile is important info ....both pics and profiles are equaly important They each achieve a common goal ...to attract someones attention Well thats my opinion

I personally do both.......For me there needs to be both physical attraction as well as intellectual attraction.......If I feel both I will persue it further.........yet on the otherhand, even without a picture up......if the profile fits my interests....curiosity always wins.....So donnacalabrese is exactly right in my opinion.......TTYL

I don't think that it should go by the looks....sure looks are somewhat important...but I think the person that they are is what matters the most. Looks is not everything...even though it may have to do with a little, the kind of person that you are is what is most important...That's my opinion anyway.....Looks ain't everything.

I don't read all the profiles. I try to read just the ones I found interesting. And even then, I may stop halfway when I encounter things like 'I like the out doors and I want my man to stay at home' or 'he must accept me for who I am.....and I am who I am I don't wanna tell you". If I ever read a profile completely all the way through, that means I sent a flower:)

my experience of dating men are more observant with the profiles then i used to think they are and of course the pic helps and more pics tend to pic up more response after all they are very visual but good for you men who take time to find out more about us women
