I am relatively new to the online dating stuff. Have only emailed with one other and it didn't seem to go well. I seemed to tick him off (not sure how)

I find this all somewhat intimidating. Not sure what to say.

Do people actually have success on these sites? Or do you actually meet people thru good friends and family?::dunno blushing

Welcome to CS.

Do a search on this topic and you'll find a dozen or more people asking the same question. Yes people have success on these site - I personally know of three couples who have met and married and couple of others who are still together but not married.
It does happen - not for everyone, but if it is to be I believe that it will. I do think that their are many who sign on thinking that they will instantly meet the perfect partner and when it doesn't happen they are angry or dissillusioned.
stick around, join the forums, enjoy the site.handshake

Hey newbies..you online dating will work for you, like the others already said you need to have patience. Don't let one rejection turn you off..Keep posting to the forums and meet people. I personally have met someone special from this site and time will tell what happens with us, but it didn't happen overnight. Hang in there!!
