One of the best years of my life was when I lived in Cadomin, Alberta. No internet, no telephone or cell phone, no TV, a couple of radio stations but quite primitive overall. I loved it!

I did fun stuff like hiking up and down the mountains, hunting aand fishing, off roading, playing pool and

at the legion, renovating a 90 year old cabin, collecting firewood and coal for heat, playing cards and drinking coffee until 4 am with the retired folks, snowball fights with the kids in town, going to friends and neighbours places

and other fun stuff.
One of the few times in my life where there was a real sense of community and genuine care for your neighbours. You don't find that in a big city anymore.
It's a bit sad that the net has at least partially replaced my contact with people in the town where I currently reside.
