Wanna hear a good one???
I almost started a racial war on the bus this morning.
We have 2 ladies that take up two seat... sometimes the front 3 seats, just for themselves, lunch bag (plastic bag) and purse. No one is allowed to sit on the seat with them. Their skin tone is darker than some of the other passengers on the bus.
Today the bus was full and I asked as I walked by, could they "Please move their bag so someone could sit".
The lady got ticked off, called me racist for picking on her, because other passengers had their bags on seats as well. When she said that, other passengers started to laugh since she was the only one.
I stopped short of asking, why it was racist if the roles were reversed. If we did not allow her to sit, and stand all the way, and why it was not racist for her to let the other passengers sit?
Asking the lady to move her bag, was so that senior citizens that get on the bus at the stop near a senior citizen's residence could have a seat. Most of them are from Europe, and Asia.
Thoughts anyone?
