What drives me COMPLETELY batty is when you're in a hurry to get somewhere, and you get stuck behind some 200 year old that can barely see over their steeringwheel, and going slower than the second coming of christ. I think there should be a law that when you reach a certain age, say like 70, it should be mandatory for you to turn in your drivers license.....

Are you going to drive them around where they need to go? Or pay for their fares? The last of their independance and you want to take that away.

They worked and build the roads your driving on, bit of patience and respect wouldnt go astray.

Tip - leave earlier and allow time for respecting elders.

What irritates me is lack of patience and repect for others

What she said laugh

We all will grow old and perhaps become slower behind the wheel

I have to admit it can get :frustrated but remind myself they have a right to be on the road whether they drive overly cautious or slow

Well I don't know how it's done there in the land of down under, but here in Canada, every motor vehicle branch has a sign that clearly reads "Diving is a privilege NOT a right", and if the government didn't waste a great deal of it's resources, they're would be plenty in the till to cover the cost of monthly bus passes for those who needed one. Normally I am a patient man, I'm the one that yells, oh keep your shirt on when ever someone hits the horn the second the light turns green, but I also believe once you reach a certain age, it must be mandatory to undergo a physical exam by a doctor, and if that doctor believe the persons age could affect thier driving ability, then thier driving priviledge is revoked and given a bus pass. I have seen 2 accidents in the past 5 months that were caused by an eldery person whos response time was far too low to be able to react in time to avoid the accident

I do not know about where you live Brew, but my father has to have physical testing by his Dr. to make sure he is in shape to drive. My Uncle is not allowed to drive now. He does not like it, but understand why.

Driving is a privilege, but unfortunately there are too many drivers, some with cell phones and not watching what they are doing. With so many on the roads these days, the amount of bad drivers is just in sane.

My father complains about pedestrians, and other drivers, but acts like he is the best know it all driver. I do get scared in any vehicle. Too many accidents for me to relax. My youngest son is still recovering from being hit by a van. Driver was turning right, while looking left and hit my son while he was on a cross walk.

Traffic here is still not as bad as it was in Montreal... so I am greatful for that.

And for other's who complain about our bus service, in Europe it's much more expensive. Here we can get a bus pass, and if we are paying our fares, we can get a bus transfer for the next bus. In Europe, you pay per bus that you need to take. A friend in Norway was paying $3.65 per bus, and then for the train when going to work and back again.

All things considered, I feel the bus service we get is a lot better than other areas. I think that is a good thing. Some of the people I have met on the bus.... we sit every weekday together and are like bus buddies. They are a joy and make the bus trip pleasant.

Now if I wanted to... I could go on about the bad passengers with pack sacs, or ones that put their bags on seats when the bus is full, or won't give up their seats to older people or a child. Would be nice if the people sitting in the sections for wheel chairs would get off their seats a lot faster instead of sitting their waiting for the bus driver to tell them to do so. Loud music, when someone has earphones on.... what is the point of earphones if it's so loud and everyone else can hear it?
dunno

For all the complaints and irritations I can come up with, I still feel lucky to be where I am, and that life is not as bad as some others.

Have a great day everyone.

Awww...I do feel some type of strange pity for your plight, Kid. When I moved a few monnths ago, the computer desk was a children's table and the chair was a little wooden one about 10 inches off the floor, sit too long and the legs seize in that crooked weird postition - would have to roll to the floor and crawl 4 awhile until everything had sensation.

conversing

Its a lot different here in the rural towns. Elderly do 1yr examinations but no public transport available.
sorry little sensitive, age care nursing experience and ppl forget the elderly rights and needs so often. Often if they are blind they get small consessions on taxi fares, some community groups help out but mostly they are left without much assistance.

Accidents not so good.

I get irritated with people that put their bags, feet or seat on th end of the seat so no one else can sit... and the bus is full teens on the bus squeeling or not able to talk with out using the f word every time. Someones Knap sac hitting me in the face breaking my glasses ipods with earphones and I an hear all the music what is the point of earphones if it's so loud everyone can hear it?

Ignorance, s stupidity, hate and anger.

No Brew, I'm not talking about you.
