Ok..call me nosey..but I'd rather you call me curious.
I was just wondering how long you've been coming to Connecting Singles...if anyone's gone to a CS event and what they've thought of it...or if there've been events in Ontario...
Anyone head to Port Dover for the Friday the 13th craziness?

Keep smilin!
yay

About a year.... but not full time. Forgot I had a profile on here until a message was left in my mail box.

I had been on another site, and that group did get together. They usually meet and have a dance night. Some people have come and joined us when they are in town. Most of us are on Facebook now. I left because of inner fights between different Queen B's. and some guys were just as bad.

Sometimes it felt like there were a bunch of teenagers taking over the forums instead of adults. For the most part it was good.

I have met a couple of guys on the site, but nothing came of it. Knew as soon as the coffee was served, it was not a match.

During the first meet, I was terrified, but the group I met, are great, and continue to give support. Don't have to say much but they have figured out some of the negative things from my marriage. If I had not gone on this site, I would not have a great support system, and made some great friends.

Everyone had questions regarding age differences, sleep overs, kids, dealing with disabilities whether it was a child's or their own.

Even questions about a person's behavior causing a partner's concerns. Even what was the protocol on a first date. How to allow yourself to date, if your child might not be OK with it. The guys and gals were very honest in the answers. Some older males gave great honest advise or answers.

Have people met on these sites, yes. Some learned enough to gain confidence, and that helped them meet a person elsewhere.

You never know what great life lesson you might learn, even if that lesson is to show you that people are not always what they seem, good or bad. Some are just as self conscious too.

Guess I am just saying in a very very long wordy way, don't loose hope. Usually things are are good, take time, and are worth the wait. :-)

Best of luck to all of you.

Hi Hug ......... I've been on/off CS since around March 2006? I think anyways - I'd have to look it up ...... I haven't been to a CS Event as there has been nothing in my area. I've met a couple of people from the site and that's it ................................ but had more fun in the forums then anything. I rarely look at profiles because I'm in the forums! Its addicting - yikes!!!!!

Thanks for all the input...the reason I asked is that there seems to be some really strong friendships, and that's awesome, so I wondered if you'd been on long to develop those, or if you've all met in person.
And the events question..well..I think it'd be fun. I've gone to a few singles dances, and they were ok, but they're usually on a Sunday night, and I have to get up for work at 3:30 am..makes for too short a night for sleeping to functioning properly..(I'm not 19 anymore..lol)
I've figured out the forums show more of a person..at least their opinions..which is always a bonus!
Me? I'm in no hurry..I like myself, my ethics, and my company..and when the time is right, who knows....... until then I'll just be nosey and read the forums..

thumbs up

Email me Kitty. If we can meet some where that is good for both of us, I'll go. I usually make an open invitation to my other single friends, and if they can, they show up.

Since I do not drive, some of the events were in areas where at night, I do not want to travel by bus.
