I was just wondering how long you've been coming to Connecting Singles...if anyone's gone to a CS event and what they've thought of it...or if there've been events in Ontario...
Anyone head to Port Dover for the Friday the 13th craziness?
Keep smilin!
About a year.... but not full time. Forgot I had a profile on here until a message was left in my mail box.
I had been on another site, and that group did get together. They usually meet and have a dance night. Some people have come and joined us when they are in town. Most of us are on Facebook now. I left because of inner fights between different Queen B's. and some guys were just as bad.
Sometimes it felt like there were a bunch of teenagers taking over the forums instead of adults. For the most part it was good.
I have met a couple of guys on the site, but nothing came of it. Knew as soon as the coffee was served, it was not a match.
During the first meet, I was terrified, but the group I met, are great, and continue to give support. Don't have to say much but they have figured out some of the negative things from my marriage. If I had not gone on this site, I would not have a great support system, and made some great friends.
Everyone had questions regarding age differences, sleep overs, kids, dealing with disabilities whether it was a child's or their own.
Even questions about a person's behavior causing a partner's concerns. Even what was the protocol on a first date. How to allow yourself to date, if your child might not be OK with it. The guys and gals were very honest in the answers. Some older males gave great honest advise or answers.
Have people met on these sites, yes. Some learned enough to gain confidence, and that helped them meet a person elsewhere.
You never know what great life lesson you might learn, even if that lesson is to show you that people are not always what they seem, good or bad. Some are just as self conscious too.
Guess I am just saying in a very very long wordy way, don't loose hope. Usually things are are good, take time, and are worth the wait. :-)
Best of luck to all of you.
