Does this online dating really work?

I am a divorced 37 year old. I don't go to the bars or clubs, because I start work early in the morning. It would be nice to hear a few success stories, as I am completely flustered. I don't know where all the single people are, or where they go. I doubt very much if the girl of my dreams is sitting beside her cpu.

A little help getting started please, this is the first time I've been single in nearly 16 years.

Yes it happens.... a friend who happens to have CP met her husband on one, and they now have 2 children.

It happens, just not as fast as some hope.

My friend said you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find the prince.

Guess that is how it is for most people.

Best of luck.

For me, I just see it as a way to meet new people and make new friends. If something more comes of it, it's a bonus!

I've had two relationships that started as an online connection. And I've made some great friends!

My advice....sit back, grab a drink and relax....you'll have some fun and who knows where it may lead?

Just my two cents worth!

Enjoy!

cheers

I can relate Randy..I don't do the bar scene either and I start work at 5 am every day, but it's nice to unwind on CS..there are some awesome people here.
I have dated someone I met online, and although the relationship didn't develope..we have an awesome friendship...and who can't use a couple of good friends to lean on when needed?

As previously posted..just relax, join the forums, and take your time.

thumbs up

Truly I think that this is only ONE avenue to meet people ............... there are many ways to connect and reach out to others besides this medium.

I have no seniority on you so you'll probably disregard my advice, but I assure you nevertheless that it comes from the heart and I have felt heartbreak before, as well as the epitome of love.

Life is an endless struggle, and I feel the utmost of sympathies for you and your situation. You seem like a lovely gentlemen, but you should take into consideration the simple fact that Internet dating is a lot like IRL (In Real Life) dating. It's still two REAL people, with REAL feelings, separated from one another until they can break down those barriers and actually get out and meet each other. And you know it's something special when two people can just drop everything and make plans to meet someone that has impacted their life in a positive way, regardless of the distance...

There's my gush for the afternoon, hehehe. peace

Well obviously it still has not worked for me as here I am again lol

We are never certain what will and will not work as life and love has no guarentees. All we can do is try and take risks and who knows where we will meet that "someone". Could be here or could be IRL. One never knows.

cheers
