Well sometimes what attracts me to a profile is a picture...but mostly it is their attitude in what they write. I have looked at profiles that have no picture. If the person seems sincere and honest and we can start to chat..then as our emails develop[..that really says it all to me. I am not one to judge by outward appearances. It is a happy possative atitude. When I do see a picure of them..I hope it is a smiling face, happy face...which reminds me I need to update my photo..lol. So I guess it is all in the personality and if our profile stuff kinda matches to our liking. Hope this helps some..have a great day and best of luck. Chuck.

It has told me a lot!.
About profiles, does it sound sincere, does the person list attributes you can related too?
Some people say a lot in a profile and some say very little.

ur right holland girl! listen to ur gut feeling! and some really used sweet words but sincerity is nowhere 2 find. Just spend time knowing the person first before any emotional investments! lol!

A picture can say a thousand words....and the profile should leave you speechless!!!!

it's a toss up...........yes, I am guilty as charged...a picture WILL most definately make me want to email that person BUT I have to read the profile to see if he will 'peak' my curiosity as to emailing him with a flower or a note

If the same old "no headgames, no "drama" (hate that comparison used), love long walks, enjoy skydiving, and going to the beach " is on it, I probably won't email them..... everyone has issues, nobody goes for long walks...well, not in the big ole city of TORONTO and what freaking beach do we have in Toronto? what? the Lakeshore?? that is hilarious, give me a break..........

however, if I am reading the profile and it seems like he is talking from his heart to the keyboard, then yes YES YES I DEFINATELY WANT TO TALK TO HIM!!

As for the final answer......WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT ON A SITE LIKE THIS??? there really is NO answer....to each his/her own..................

The picture is the the first thing . And Location is the second.

Depending on the location, sometimes you know right away that if the person comes from a certain part of the world, it would not work.
Especially if his country's values towards woman is not the same as my country and that there would definitely be a culture shock issue regardless how cute the person is.

The third thing is spelling.... I make mistakes myself as english is not my first language, but if the person cannot even use the spell check provided, then it shows me he is :
1 - lazy or sloppy ,
2- Illiterate or
3- Not educated or
4 -Not intelligent.



And these are 4 more reasons why I would not want to speak with the person.

the bigest shame of this is that peple are looking so hard for that perfickt giy or gal that thay for get how to be compashenit of others and refuse to exsept the difrences in one another and just open up and be happy with waht life ofers you best of luck

I am a sucker for pretty faces on females, but have had past issues with very pretty dates....['everybody wants her' kind of thing]

I also welcome faceless profiles, since it tells me that the person is still looking for connections in their lives. Some faceless people are just trying to figure out what is going on in their life. I have found that this forum helps me to show my real self and not what others say or think about me. It is also a great place to feel wanted when you are feeling down.

What is written in the fine prints is also of interest. If it excludes me, then I rarely do anything but send a flower to tell the person I appreciate who they are. I usually respect what they write.

Also, what is written in the forums really attracts me to the person, especially when I detect sincerity in their posts, whether I agree with them or not.

If the photo shows someone with smiling eyes... that will catch my attention... then if you put something in your profile that catches my interest, I might send a Hello.

A certain person ... had a great profile about a rusty knight. It was not on this site, but that profile did show this person would be cool to get to know.

Real is what attracts me - a man of courage, strength and wisdom - his voice, that exudes a calming strength and reassurance. He says that something in my eyes snagged and haunted him right from the get go -and that something is ours to keep to ourselves.
Out of many messages, his words rang with honesty and truth - there is a hand of fate and destiny - it exists - don't have proof - but my gut instinct is all I need to tell me.

For me its Humor...

what they right in their profiles..

If they are stuck on themselves..or wanting a perfect person...
not for me...

I have my man(fiance)..who i met on the forums..here on CS...

I wasnt looking at all..but either was he...

I sat back it read everything that he wrote....

Humor is what got me...

And for him..Was when i told him to kiss my A$$....

A photo that shows they are in my physical ball park then a positive profile. Needn't be long and boring but somewhat fun.

I then look for what they want in a guy and if open for many things I read on but, if it has specifics, even if I fit them, it spells anal and rigid and I stop right there.

I think one of the biggest mistakes a profile writer can make is to show us all subconsciously what has happened to them in the past by placing phrases into the profile such as 'looking for a one woman man' or 'he must be honest' etc. Beware guys and girls! You are charging a machine gun nest uphill.

some men view my profile over and over, I send them a note and they don't respond.

a photo of a person with a great smile that reaches their eyes. Especially if They are not hiding behind their hair, or only showing part of their face.

If the person is showing a lot of skin, .... it's a turn off, jmo.... it's like saying hey I'm only good for sex .... or trying to say look at my bod, but not my brain or personality. JMO, it's fake.

The photo will catch my eye, but it's how they handle expressing themselves in their profile, forums and emails that will make an even bigger impression.

Humor, compassion for others, and honesty.

A person can describe themselves as trustworthy, hardworking, a jock, great lover etc, but that is not what keeps my attention.

Geo caught my attention when he wrote about being a rusty knight. :-)
