AlbertaGirl: I know i should smile but i just dont smile in pics i dont know why but i never have, but out of pics i smile when things are funny and when people make me laugh, i guess you say i might feel fake smiling in pics.

I understand, because I am kind of the same - most smiles from me in pictures feel and look fake, unless they are taken when I am not "posing", and not even aware....I was told it is fear of the camera...go figure LOL. In real life, I smile and laugh - as I am sure you do to. Kim is right, you are gorgeous and there is something in your eyes that a good man will see - I know....Take care, Eyes handshake purple heart

I do have to say that I have both thin and larger lady friends. When it comes to dating I would accept either as long as they have
a good personality and are clean and honest .In the end it does matter much more to me what is inside a person.

This whole conversation seems somewhat ridiculous to me. Putting health issues aside, we don't pick our friends by size but instead by personality, caring attitudes, good humour and things in common. Why should it be any different in picking a partner to share your life with

What is in your head, your heart and how you behave to others should be the important issues. In the end, when you get wonderful things, you really don't care how it was originally boxed. You can find wonderful treasures in packages of any size. You really just have to take the time to look and not prejudge or guess

AlbertaGirl: This day in age i am finding it harder and harder to find that man that likes my curves, all you see on tv is really skinny woman is that what men really want?

It depends entirely how she sees and feels about herself. Positives never lose in the long run

it all depends on what a guy is attracted to. i like women who have curves and her personality is more important than what she weighs.

I too am a curvy girl. I think most Albertan men are very shallow to be honest with you and all they want is the model types. Too bad they don't go for personality.

Those skinny women we see on TV are meant for other women. It's advertising meant to make women buy products they don't need. It's aimed at kids and young girls to prepare them for a future of spend, spend spend. School kids are hardest effected by advertising. They "must have" all the latest in clothing, electronics, etc., or they feel that they don't fit in. The pitch is so strong that teens have been able to extract billions from their parents to satisfy the greed of marketeers. There have bee several magazine articles on the subject.
Once we get older and must work for every penny and we make (I hope) better choices. We choose healthier foods. We dress to be comfotable; not what we think others think is "cool".
As for larger women; personally, I think skinny women look unhealthy; sickly and weak. They have no body fat to rely on in cooler weather. they are flat-chested and boney. I prefer a middle-wieght woman. One who falls within her BMI (body mass index). A little softness and muscle. I believe most men would agree. That's what makes middle weights most desireable.

well said!
Reality is you need to accept yourself first before anyone else can accept you.

it's like I always say....

if you can't accept me as I am....you'll never accept me as you think I should be.

I am a big girl.......and weight isn't an issue becasue at my thinnest I am still around 200lbs, I have a large bone structure and dense muscle mass, but am proportionate. I am very healthy, I have no blood pressure problems, heart is fine circulation is fine, other than the aches & pains that come with aging I am in pretty good shape considering my weight. I do want to refocus on my health in the new year by refocusing my eating habits which a lot of us are guilty of straying from. If I lose weight in the process good for me, it will help my joints and give me more energy. But I don't complain about my size nor do I not care about it either.

But no matter your size; having pride in who you are as a person reflects in your outer self, personality and the friends you keep and the people who are attracted to you. And if they're only attracted to you for what you look like, how loyal are they going to be when age takes it's toll? If you cant have a conversation with someone 20 years down the road, what's the point?

I know I can't speak for any other guys, but there are a lot of different things that attract me to a woman, I don't have a "size preference", so called curvy women can be very sexy. But you can't beat a really nice smile.

well i persoally like women who have a few extra pounds but it truly is a personal prefrence most guy that want the barbie doll figure are simply put vary vain. i think thats the word i would use they worry about what their family and freind will think personally i find woman with a few extra pounds to be verry attractive
