I was told today when I picked up my travel stuff that Whitehorse and then Yellowknife are notorious for severe crosswinds - so yeah, Geo it's the whole sideways thing that gets me. Landing elsewhere was not really that bad...
So next Saturday night, shortly after midnight, I do believe that I will be scared witless for a moment or two...but that too shall pass And it's all so worth it

Funny how that plane in front of the air port, is the the largest weather vane.

When Brian and I were in Whitehorse, we parked the truck across the road from the air port. I did think it was weird for an airplane to be the weather vane... but cool at the same time. Have a post card of it, on my office wall.


If we are there at the same time, we should meet in person, instead of just on the phone. Regret that we did not meet at the restaurant after talking on the phone.

think positive,but think logicly too,statisticly your safer in a plane in a windstorm than you are in a car on a perfect day.Also any idiot in a car can cause an accident,but you need alot of training to be a pilot,and I would sooner trust one half-assed pilot to land a plane than 1000 others not to hit me on the road.Hopefully this was of some help

I only get a little freaked out when they say we will be landing shortly....once they find the friggin airport.

The worst landing I ever had was in St Petersburg Russia, they had to line up the aircraft not for the runway, but to miss the damn potholes in the runway...ever been on a plane when it hits a pothole at a couple of hundred miles an hour? Well not quite a pothole...a filled in hole on a concrete runway from World War 1...let me tell ya...

Ah flying...but yeah, that sideways thing is weird alright...looking out that window at the runway coming at you and all those pretty lights...something you are not suppose to see when you are landing!!!

I'M VENTING!


In the parking area where the transport trucks are parked and plugged in, the power breaker is turned on....I was thinking positive, getting lots of the decorating and cleaning done so I'd have more free time with Brian .... but some bleep bleep bleeps where Brian works, did not turn on the breaker for the parking lot where the employees and truckers park personal their vehicles ... 13 cars are sitting there, plugged in ... and it will be 6 hrs before a tow truck can come and give boosts.

It was a 2 day delay screw up from the dispatchers last week, etc etc... and now this. Brian normally gets home Thursday night, or early Friday morning if there are problems. This weekend because of the screw ups he was only going to be home for 24 hrs. Gets back at midnight and leaves midnight the following day ... now ... he's/I'm lucky if he is able to be home by noon... but still has to leave by midnight. I'm am royally ticked off...

Lets see if the company will pay for all the boosts their employees will have to get because some numb nuts did not think ... I sure hope one of the numb nuts are parked in the same lot and need a boost.very mad frustrated

Plugging in vehicles? There is new plug on my car and I went to the local Canadian Tire and bought a good quality cord that lights up and tells me that IT HAS POWER!!! What good does that do when the prongs don't FIT IN THE HOLES OF THE CORD!!!! All the power in the world is worth crap if it is not connecting...frustrated very mad And I don't think in this deepfreeze (-34 as I type), there is anything I can really do to fix this...dunno
But, I am going back to the "Store" to purchase a portable charger, booster thing...because I think I will be needing it...yay CANADIAN TIRE BUCKS!!! angel

SeanJohn79: Well folks it never ceases to amaze me,I was contacted by a girl this past weekend from the USA and last nite she tried to scam me.I guess she didn't read the part in my profile about scammers,go figure.What really disgusts me is how they try to play on your sensitivities.If my sister was dyeing in a hospital I would not ask for money from someone off the internet.I'd go to a high interest finantial instatution first.If I was a scammer I would make sure the my typing matched the typing on my profile at least or at least get a desease out of a medical text instead of trying to make one up.I suppose though if these yahoo's had any more then 9 brain cells they would also have a job EH?Point is,"play safe" people and don't get taken in
