One of our own here, KDH (Kim) is currently and unexpectedly faced with an extreme health crisis in her immediate family. Kim's family is very close. I am not going into details, out of respect, but Kim's very active and loving Mom has been slammed with something very serious. I am asking each and every one of you to send your best positive thoughts, your prayers, what ever it is you can do to Kim's Mother, her Father and all of the family and friend who are going to be walking and fighting this battle with Mrs. H. This too is a challenge that as a new couple Kim and Brian will be meeting - let's pray for them to find and keep the courage and fortitude to get through this strong and together. angel
You are in our thoughts Kim and prayers - everyday - to your Mom and Dad - to you all. Look after yourself, you are no good to anyone if you do not. And remember the Serenity Prayer - I pray you will have the serenity, wisdom and courage that will help get you through this. teddybear

Thank you.

My mother is a good candidate for the cancer surgery and we did everything we could to make sure she had as great a Christmas as she could handle. For once she let me make the meal. Brian has been the rock for me to lean on, while everyone was leaning on me.

Hopefully my aunt from Ireland will get here to help out and take some of work/house/children/cooking/cleaning load off my hands.

Boxing Day my parents will be married 53 yrs. Can anyone imagine being married for that long? My mother is a great role model on how to make a marriage work.

Thanks for the prayers and positive wishes.

Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the Sick, we turn to You in this time of illness. O dearest Comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with Your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our sick under Your care and humbly ask that You restore Your servant (N.) to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge Your holy will and know that whatsoever You do, You do for the love of us. Amen.

Best wishes and may each and every day spill over with hope and a speedy recovery.....

God Bless you all

With sincere thoughts,

Rose kiss

Mom goes in for surgery this Friday. Part of her pancreas, bile duct, stomach, and all of her gallbladder will be removed. Complete recovery from the operation alone will take up to 6 months.

Until she is better, I might not be posting much. Eyes, love the emails you send, sorry you have not received many replies. Please know they are appreciated and read. Thanks for keeping me going and words of encouragement. hug

Take care Everyone.

hug Kim...you look after you and your mom. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all now and especially on Friday, okay. I'll keep sending stuff, you keep reading, don't need to reply....no words needed - just do what you need to do. Keep believing and thinking good thoughts (that's what you told mewink ) Who knows, maybe we will catch up with each other when I am blazing a trail through Edmonton on my way up north...teddybear

She is kind of in and out of it. Morphine is getting her to have dreams about where she grew up in Ireland.

For what Mom has been through, she looks good (JMO). My father is driving everyone crazy... and expects me to be there every moment I am not at work, helping at the house or dropping what ever I'm doing ... patience is a virtue, but at the moment I don't have much of it.

Brian has been a rock for me to lean on. A woman at work has been there for me as well. No news on what the results are yet.

Operation took 9 hrs.

I get home to sleep, sometimes have time to read email. Eric is coping the best way he can. No matter how many times I say, "It depends on how well everything goes for my mother"... I keep getting asked have I set a date yet... :-)

Re the book... "Keepers of the Wisdom". Under what author's name? There is more than one version of that book and I'd like to get the one you mentioned. :-)

Thanks for all the positive wishes and prayers. Ta ta for now.teddybear

Yeah!!! She is fighting the fight! Dreaming about her Irish roots? Good! She will gather and build that notorious Irish strength, resilience and stubbornness (yes, it can be a positive virtue) - she is getting ready to kick the hell out of this horrid disease! People are beating it - some people are living with it - but fewer are dying from it...gotta stay positive! bouquet

Hang in there Kim...hug thumbs up
