Now I know that smoking is becoming socially un-acceptable but I have read a lot of profiles and 99.9 percent of you ladies out there claim that you are non-smokers.
Is this true? Or do you hope to find a non-smoker and hope he does'nt find out or what?
I'm honestly trying to quit, but my point is, that it says that in my profile. I'm very conscious of my smoking habits and if spending time with people who don't smoke, then I don't smoke much at all. I'm trying to quit after allhmmm Just wondering.
Would like feed back on this topic please.

dancing I love ya Man, I do smoke and I can tell you that we are a dying breed. I know I had a couple of dates wow oh yes I did, and the guys were stated as non-smokers and the first thing was do you mind if I smoke! I enjoy my cigs and noone or nothing will make me quit, if they are killing me so be it. I sit at my pc and with my cuppa, or my drink and cig its great! I know that its not acceptable but only by those who were never smokers and no slight on them, so do not get all hot and firey and attack me! Its the reformed ones that get me most my friend gave up because she had chest pains and the hospital told her that she was going to have a heart attact, they did not say when! She is miserable for the last 6yrs and still waiting her heart attack, but she has had nothing bul ill health since she quit. I am fit and still working each and everyday, I can run if need to. What else is there and why are we paying $10 a packet when the only cost $2 in the Middle East disgraceful. If we all quit then the powers that be will raise taxes or something else to raise the funds they are making out of us, and I will not be the one to put more souls out of work!! On my pc I have an icon with a ciggy but none on here, shame we are discriminated on everywhere we go!! Good Luck and Live Happily!

I'm an ex smoker. The only time I really have a problem with someone that smokes, is when they blatantly blow smoke in another person's face, light up in someone's house when they are told they can only smoke outside.

My profile said non smoker because of my asthma etc.

Hanging around non smokers might help you smoke less.

From my own experience, and from watching other smokers, if they get lecture or nag about it, that does not stop them from smoking. Sometimes it makes them more defiant, and they just light up another cigarette. blah

My oldest son smokes. Instead of nagging or lecturing, every couple of months I say, "Nag, Nag". His response, "Yeah, I know you love me."

People can successfully quit any habit, but they have to be mentally and emotionally ready. Best of luck to anyone that wants to quit, thinking about it, or in the middle of doing so.

extra note to question regarding smokers and non smokers ....

I did try to be friends with someone who was a smoker. He did not like having to stand outside and smoke if he came to mine or other people's homes. It got to the point he would only visit, if we went to his apartment, so he could smoke inside. He would say he is trying to quit, but smoked a pack a day and it was hard to breath if we did visit.

No offense, but when I watch the smokers at work go outside so many times a day, for their "Puff of fresh air", or how much it costs, I'm glad I'm not a slave to a smoking habit.

For myself, being with a smoker would mean, having to interrupt things I am doing etc, when the smoker needs to go outside and have a smoke, listening to the hacking smokers do, cost of smoking, smell, not sure I'd enjoy the taste from the smoker if we were kissing, and trouble breathing in the smoke from their cigarettes.

I'm finding the opposite, many woman in my age range are smokers or single parents. Both of which I'm not really looking for.

Hey Canadane

YEP...I SURE DO SMOKE....and I say so on my profile...

funny thing is that IF I choose to go out with someone from this site or just someone, they say "oh, do you smoke>???"

I did try to quit and it lasted 18 days.....funny how we remember sh*t but remember how many freaking days we went without a smoke.....unfortunately, went to a party and picked up the habit once again....oh well, sh*t happens

I also have respect for persons whom do not smoke and will not light up around them and give them the benefit of the doubt...HOWEVER, I notice that they are QUICK to insult SMOKERS!

I don't smoke around children, do not smoke in persons homes and do not "bible thump" non smokers....

all you SMOKIN guys????? look me up! lol

cheering cheering I am an ex-smoker - TOMORROW IT WILL BE 2 YEARS!!! I quit for a variety of reasons, the $$$, my health, but first and foremost, I wanted to set a positive example to my kids. My complexion is better, my hair, nails and teeth are healthier, I don't stink like smoke, nor do my clothes grin I despise the smell of cigarette smoke now. Now, I will buy more expensive perfume, because the smell isn't ruined by smoke. (believe me, you can put on the nicest perfume, but people still smell the smoke first and most!)It really mattered to me that my future partner be a non or ex smoker.....and, glory be, he is (an ex-smoker)! yay I know quitting is very hard and support and encourage anyone attempting....but I can tell you, it is so worth it! peace angel
