Hello dear CS members.

I was wondering if those who have had a teaching abroad experience would share some advantages and disadvantages of such a lifestyle...

Most commoly it is the teaching of English that spurrs on a teaching abroad job, but not exclusively.

Some common motivations are to finance other travel, a change in career, experiencing a different culture, the love of teaching, or to escape the humbrum of life at home...

I'm such one teacher myself and I can't rely on my own reflections to make a decision if this 'nomdic' life is worth the constant move.

I'd appreciate your input.

Well Mickey, I taught out of province and not abroad. I found it to be a rewarding experience. I met many new people, learned about their different ways, and picked up a bit of their language as well. If I was younger, I would definitely recommend it to others, as a chance to see the world and get paid for it. It would also depend on your personality, as it isn't for everybody. You really need to be independent and very outgoing.professor
