So I went to the doctor's today to get some meds for this virus i'm carrying, and asked him about the 'swine flu epidemic.' He said that it was hardly as dangerous as the regular flu and the media drummed it up to be alot worse than it is. This is from a medical health professional.

Every five years the media throws down a new 'omg supervirus' story and the world freaks out. We are kept in a constant state of fear because we allow ourselves to be, how do you live life if you're so very scared of it?

.......Hate to say hate.....Tina took the words right out of my mouth...stupid thing about this one....and I could 'piss off' a lot of people with this comment....that cruise ship should have been in 'total lock down' right from the beginning once that 'Swine flu'
was discovered.....here in New Zealand ,the Health authorities are on 'red alert'........

There is no way they are going to keep it contained because it is an airborne virus, you don't necessarily have to be ultra close to catch it, if your immune system is vulnerable, it is likely that at some stage you are going to pick something up be it swine flu or any other airborne virus. As long as people breathe into the air, people are going to catch it. Everyone just needs to be sensible and stay away from those vulnerable and allow the flu to run its course. By overmedicating people we are not allowing our natural systems to fight it and we are giving the power to the virus to evolve to another nasty form which will be bigger and badder next time.

I have had that many swine flu emails it is ridiculous!! I got one 6 times from 6 different people in one day!!

Over 400 confirmed cases in Australia now... aint nobody died here from it yet.

Wasn't the total death toll in Mexico city like 19 people? that's 1 in a million.

But goes to show how hopeless they are at containing things!

There is no chance they will contain an airborne virus. Common sense is required not quarantine.

my son told me there are 4 kids at his school diagnosed with it and an Outdoor Ed teacher suspected of having it .. they have not nor it seems going to close the school

I noticed on the news that other states are stopping people from Victoria from entering their states

its a flu for god's sake ... every year there is a different strain of flu around .. some people get it some don't

I heard the victorian government were going to introduce a sustain stage now after the contain stage where they will be able to close down major events!! Talk about overkill, often you already have the bug before any symptoms even come out, a bit like a dog chasing it's tail! I have only heard snippets so i am not sure on the details of it and what exactly they will be able to do.
