Introduction
I am very interested to distinguish and converse people’s views on Australians current governing body. As such I will ask the subsequent.

Guidelines
Please be sure to elucidate your answer so no offence is caused. Also I would commend writing quite a lot; not just your opinion, but an elucidation and justification of it.
Please do not squabble with someone because there opinion is different to yours, however amateurish it may be.
If you do feel the need to retort, please do it in a peaceful manner, and make sure to quote the point you are in opposition to.

Question
In light of the global crisis and the government’s ability to avoid a recession in Australia, how do you think the Labour government is performing?

Ok Im game . Im not a labour voter but I do think they are doing the best they can given the circumstances, which isnt easy given the global situation. The 2 stimulus packages were a good idea even though i didnt get mine. Its also one of the rare ocassions also that having 2 good treasurers in succession has helped Australia more so than any other country.

It has also been difficult for the Rudd government as it was for the Howard Government having to deal with the States who all want bigger slices of the pie and dont get on with one another , for the good of the nation.

I do feel running my own business it was definately tougher about 6 months ago compared to now as it seems financially things are on the turn

They sent them out based on last year's tax return... so if you haven't put your tax in yet for last year, you have to put it in by June 30 this year and they'll post you out the stimulating cheque. wink

I know mate but sadly I made a loss last year so I didnt have to pay tax crying , but anyway it has helped

See I love this kind of stuff. An informed opinion from somone who didn't even vote labour. (If you must know, I voted for Howard)

I think in the current climate we need to stand by our leaders no matter what. After all, they are the ones that keep things running, even if they do make some mistakes along the way.

Thank you for you opinion Steven :)

personnally I don't trust any politians.. I think they are all in politics for their own personal gain .. and they can't tell the truth to save their lives

but

I usually vote labor.. because they deal with issues that affect me .. I would vote democrats or greens but they are not strong enough to make a difference..

labor are doing the best they can under the circumstance... pisses me off when the oppostion keep highlighting the negatives without putting it into perspective given the current economic climate.. they just want brownie points and to get into power next election...roll eyes its a pity most voters soon forget and vote on recent events prior to an election rather than looking at what was done over a 4 yr period
