WaterDragpn: I hear ya, Blonde!!!
I have had my 5mth old puppy (bichon frise/poodle X) for 2mths now. He's adorable BUT:-
1. check - and brings in sticks, stones and bark to chew
3. definitely check! (My son calls him "the little poop machine"!)
4. chews ANYTHING - loves my shoes
5. DON'T LET GO!
I rent too but my place has a BIG fully fenced yard coz I had a dog when I arrived here (he died of the big C in April, 14yrs old). The house was so quiet and lonely that I got Jack.
He's an inside/outside pooch. The back door is always open day/evening when I'm home. He has to have the back light on at night or he won't go outside - small price to pay. He also has lots toys and gets bones to occupy himself with.
Puppies are hard work, a bit like toddlers! But so worth it in the end - this stage doesn't last forever! Make your house Puppy Proof. Rather than getting rid of him/her, go to Dog Obedience Training.
Hope this helps a bit, Good Luck!! Stevie
I went to puppy school with her .. she was the worst in the class cos she isnt food orientated like other puppies.. so dog treats dont motivate her at all ... so training takes a VERY long time !!!

I fill her dog bowl and she gets around to eating it about an hour later
I wont really get rid of her Stevie.. I was having a whinge really
