I bought a mobile 'phone in Dublin, Ireland last September, and because it needs to be 'unlocked', and I had another one anyway, I haven't used since returning to Oz.

Now here's the thang...

The battery hasn't been charged for well over a year now.

So...how is it that the alarm still goes off at the set time, every day regardless!uh oh

A friend tols me there is always some battery reserve left, which allows functions such as this, to operate.

Is this true? Or is it just the Oirish way???irish

Anyone else had something weird they can't explain, happen to you?dunno

I'm all ears!conversing wave

Yes our car radio hasnt worked for years lol Its simply a tape deck with am fm radio, and it aint even connected to the car wire wise! It's just sitting in the slot there. Well last summer, I was driving home from the beach near night time, I flicked the switch for fun, and it worked! And I enjoyed the radio for the first time in ages, and then I turned it off when I got home, and when i tried it again the next day it didnt work, hasnt since!

And your sure you were safe to drive ? ;) like under the legal limit and not cloudy headed from some sort of mind altering substance...

I would of just parked the car and burnt it and never looked back if a disconnected stereo started working. I'd probably also tip out the rest of the bundy and throw the pills away too.

I had an email once that said if you punch in a certain combination on the key pad (after going into the right part of the phone) you get extra energy out of the battery. There was a second thing too but I forget what it was. I tried it and one was true, the other didn't work. Unfortunately, my memory being what it is I also don't remember which worked and which didn't...... lmao I'm pretty sure tho, that even if your phone has 'died' it'll still allow you to call emergency.....

Sorry Venere, can't solve the puxxle. But I know that when I walk past or come near to a radio it goes all fuzzy! Plus my son has been known to turn street lights on and off !!!! I've seen it! WEIRD!

LoveableOne - re your car radio... what was the 'talk show" about?

Im probably wrong (I generally am) but I always thought that it the phone had a wee bit of residual battery in case of an emergency call.

Well, when the batteries go flat, I can't even turn the mobile 'phone on, let alone call emergency.

That is, every other bloomin' 'phone 'cept this 'Irish' Nokia. Given we're talking about all this, I just went to grab THAT phone, and tried turning it on.

Blow me down it turns on. Now, how can that be? No sim card in it, and I can't get the back off easily, so will try later. But.... it turns on! And it shows FULL BATTERY. Now how is that???? My other 'phone is a $499 Samsung, and when it's flat, it's flat! doh confused uh oh

Yes, it is easy to think that of dear LoveableOne.comfort

Let's not be so quick. Electronics is way too fickle an energy system to figure out. And there is so much of it OUT THERE. I can't imagine what's in the atmosphere. Just because we can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there. Mobile phone waves from enormous towers all over the country, satellite waves from space, radio waves, televison waves, you name it it's there. Summit's gotta give. dunno

That would be handy to know what it is.

But it is not something I did with that phone, so it can't be that. As I said, I just turned it on, and it shows a full battery. This is since it hasn't been charged in a long, long time. Sure, it's been turned off, so I guess the battery hasn't actively been used, but if I do the same with any other phone, just by 'sitting there', the battery goes flat.dunno

I've walked past street lights that have turned off or on at times as I walked under em, no biggy, just good timing lol. And I can't remember the actual content of the talk show but I do remember laughing and enjoying it...

Yep, same as people think that of me, when I tell of certain things that have happened to me.

Such as lights coming on in a previous car. And even my brother maintained I ncould not accidentally have turned them on, as the switch took a lot of deliberate effort to turn on. And in broad daylight, twice. Battery went as dead as a door nail. I refused to drive the car again, and asked my mother to give me a crucifix, so she did, a small one, and I put it in the car. Lights never came on again. I didn't care about coincidences. All I knew was no more flat batteries from lights coming on by themselves!!! laugh

My theory was that someone may have died in that car, or similar.

Alison Dubois, proven to be a real medium, through the University of Arizona, wrote in her books that dead people often communicate with us through electronic media. She is the lady upon whom that show called 'Medium' is based. She does in real life, actually donate her time to working with police on missing cases, and murders etc.

Bah someone died in the room I've been living in for years! Nothing has ever happened out of the ordinary...
