Thanks for the poem purple, sounds as if you have loved and lost as well. As a friend said to me... our workplace has given us the great resiliency training for times like this.... i am fine now.. i try not to let a mans betrayal keep me down for too long or give him the benefit of my energy to keep dwelling on it all. What is done is done... i cant turn back time all i can do is keep positive and keep looking there are so many good guys out there...just got to turn one of the heads my way. As they say it may not happen over night.... but it will happen lol, i hope it does soon for you too...

Really I just wish to say you have my commiseration. And Know Guys can feel the same way.

Mine is only two years now. And she is still continually haunting my dreams. But at least I have got the days cured.

I wrote it about 6 months ago dragon...had some not so good stuff happening for me at the time....

Did a lot of writing for a few months - It can help to put it on a page sometimes...

Happy to report that I am no longer in that dark place so much now - but still have the occasional night here and there. Met a really nice man a couple of months ago and things are progressing very nicely atm..although slowly...which can be a good thing sometiimes...

It sure is.

Slow is best. It allows you to adjust and dabble at a pace that suits you without pressure.

im sorry to hear about what happened...
a friend of mine has been in a similar situation..he lost 2 grand to a scam...it sucks that people are taking advantage of this whole online dating thing and trying to scan genuine, honest people...

Wow, Thank you for the kind words... i am well and truly over him now. So am all good....and fortunately, i didnt fall into the trap of giving him my bank account so he could send me money for his accommodation. Or to bail him out.... just one slightly bruised ego... that is has healed with only a small little wince every now and then.

It's funny how they end up in Nigeria. I too was communicating with a man; American from Covington, GA, who works as a sub-contractor for oil companies had to leave England, which he was there for three months, so he says, had to go to Nigeria to refit a cooling systems. He left the site in August. So, I just contacted CS to find out if his story was true. Well, CS told me he had multiple profiles and had ties to a bigger group of scammers. I had this feeling I had about three different men as this one. My gut. He didn't ask for money, but he was in Nigeria and had not received a paycheck. Who knows he very well would have in his next correspondence.

So,let's see, so if we're weeding out the scammers and those who want a piece of ass, then whose left?

MV i am glad you didnt end up getting completely sucked in either. I think we base others on our own standards of trust and values... when i am being cynical about someone, i think i am putting up negativity, but next time i think i will just take it very very slow..... but it still hurts when you get taken in and played either way. I believe in karma and what goes around comes around... so ultimately we just have to keep positive and keep the faith.
Thanks for sharing your story as well and appreciate that the background story changes the scam is obviously one that has been around for a while... suppose to a certain degree if they live in a society that is so broken down and they cannot get food etc that they will resort to almost all things to be able to feed their families etc and just live day to day so it is sad that maybe in a decent regulated society they may well be people who would have values but in desperate times those values disintegrate along with the country. Pity if they had oil then i am sure America would come in with the UN and everyone else to rescue the poor and down trodden....being killed by an evil dictator.. but becasue they don't they have to fend for themselves.
