I agree with with your first statement, and would like to add the following.

God gave us the Freedom of choice to love him. This is the only way he wishes us to worship him.

God leaves us to decide in our hearts to love him.
It is our decision to follow his rules
It is our decision to tell others of his wonders
It is our decision to believe what evangalists tell us.

At the root of it God is love and he loves us, he loves us enough to let us make this decision, he has given us his word to find the truth in.

At the moment there is a battle raging on another level that people are not aware of, it is the oldest battle in the world good against evil, God vs satan.

But over the centuries Satan has had his chance to subtly sway things his way, he challenges God just as he did Jesus, by making us doubt,asking for proof that God is God.

Yet there are many miracles out there everyday that cannot be explained by science, these are real miracles of healing and saviour that are heavily scrutinised for years before they are released as miracles. Is this not a proof of God when prayers like this are answered.

Satan is subtle enough to make you think you are being godly when you are not, he takes on a god like persona but there are a couple of differences that I have seen.

God will never tell you you are ugly or hopeless, he will never put you down and he will never tell you that you are bad, he will love you unconditionally.

Satan will tell you that you need things of an earthly nature to make you a better person, he will guide you into confusion so you think you almost have the answer only to have it taken away at the last minute.

The power and light of god is a stronger presence that will lift your soul up high and make you feel accepted and loved like you never have been.

It is up to you to believe or not, but if you close your eyes and feel with your heart calling his name you will feel the love come over you. Surrender yourself and trust in him, you don't have to tell anyone but notice how your life improves.
