I think its a matter of personal growth, Some men are also shallow & only focus on the exterior .Physical attraction is initial ,its the first thing we notice about someone ,but after that we see the real person.I have found some of the most handsomest men become uglier as their personality becomes apparrent.Alot of people rush into sex based on the phyisical ,lust is the main attraction ,These rarely endure as the real person is revealed.
Sadly I think internet dating ,although is a good platform to meet a wide variety of people ,it also means that the next date is only a click away...
Its a bit like a smorgousboard,have a nibble of this ,a taste of that all the whilst glancing at what your gonna try next,without really taking the time to see whats on the plate infront of you.
We are all here because we are lonely,& alot are impaitent to meet their special someone ,but sometimes we dont know exactly what were looking for ,exactly who is good for us ,& with so many options it can be confusing.All we can do is be ourselves, present our true selves & hope others are doing the same .

I dont think that its just women that are shallow etc etc. It goes both ways. Some people just dont want to look deeper into a person to see who they REALLY are - they just want a looker whos maybe good in bed or gives out the money etc.. who knows.

I've struck men who are shallow and immature with my disability. Years ago I was seeing a business guy. We got on really well, and he didnt seem to care that I used crutches or the wheelchair. Then I lost my leg. Suddenly I wasnt the 'right look' for him.

Kizzy is right, there has to be that initial phsycial attraction. Thats only human. However, its what happens after that, that is important. Looks fade and change, but personalities are there to stay more times than not.

Money, looks, body type etc. They're not the most important things in life. If someone doesnt like you for who you are or how you look, then dont take it personally (easier said than done - believe me i KNOW), but its true.

I truely think there is someone out there for everyone.

Probably because they were raised to believe some prince would ride up on a white horse and resuce them to a land of love and devotion and then they found themselves kicked in the guts sometimes literally.
Hye I am not standing firm of their superficial beliefs but unfortunately I do see the other side of the coin. Men have alot of the times asked for their karma, every action has a reaction so I know some women friends of mine are sick to death of lies and just living the life of wearing blinkers.

Oh yea we would all like one I personally have worked from the age of 15...........And have a little stash.....All worked for ,retired now and quite comfortable....Have too many possesions ...............have been working on that shedding possesions ..........Im heading towards the so called Golden years...Not stressed about it as have had a pretty good life.Been burnt big time along my road.....but hold no anger stress all forgiven.

One thing i hate most is materialistic women. And it seems "SOME AND I MEAN SOME" women work that way and it shows their double standards. Ask most women what their ideal man would be like and they'll include 'rich'. But if us fellas say we prefer good looks in a woman , we automatically are accused of being shallow..

We are all victims trapped in a confused world of each of us sinking and becoming afraid so we fight to reach the surface first.
No, materialism starts with that fear, and the need for security in life. People can surround themselves with wealth and likes of money but I still manage to have to attend their accidents and funerals.
I see both sides of the coin, lets face it, we do need each other and personally I find women to be good soulful creatures and admire both their strengths and weakness's. My mother is the greatest person I know.

Being in a relationship means finding that someone who compliments you .To know who that person is & to know how to treat that person ,means first knowing ones self truely,what we want,what we need,what we expect from a partner,what we can give of ourselves .
I think the big downfall alot of people make is thinking that a man or woman is going to make everything better.When you dont need a partner in your life but instead actually want one then youve got a chance to be part of something wonderful.

Exactly Kizzy its about giving not taking so if you are looking for someone to fill a void remember to plant the expectations of yourself. I love the saying that its not about looking in each others eyes its about both looking in the same direction.
Material things only keep us happy for so long, then we need something bigger brighter and more expensive.
