IT help needed

hey, jimmys computer has gone crazy,
on the right hand side of my screen it has turned
black then stripy colours,
it covers 1/4 of the screen,
and i cant seem toget rid of it,

can any one help me please????

close all programs & save any unsaved data ,Shut down restart do a virus scan, then restart again go to all programs ,accessiories, then control panel,then systems restore, click on restore my computer to an earlier time , make it a week prior on on of the BOLD dates .The comp should reboot automatically .you will not lose any saved data including recieved emails .If that fails ....must be your pixels , call a technition...

It may be one of the spirits that live with you call the ghost busters for assistance.
