hi whats the name of the girl again in Whale Rider?? Her characters name i mean not the actress. Love that film and everything Maori. Want to go back to Turangi, was v special!!

thanks to ye both, Pai thats it. Anyone know a pure gentleman by the name of Quentin he was building the pool in Turangi back in April, hes from Palmie, like trying to find a needle in a haystack!!!

Ahhh ... Quentin the Pool Builder from Palmerston North! Nope, sorry don't knowhim but he has probably gone to Queensland's Gold Coast by now.

Whale Rider was filmed near Tolaga Ba North of Gisbourne on te East Coast of the North Island I think.

Your right there bro it was filmed at a small settlement just south of Tolaga Bay called Whanara.I am originally from Tolaga and have seen the movie. A real tear jerker it was.peace

My Mother was a Hale from Tolaga Bay. Brought up by her uncle Bill Hale a horse breeder.
