In response to: I had a thread similiar ages ago but I had a quick search now and can't find it.

Anyhoo, I am having my 30th next July and was talking to a friend today and she asked if I had booked the venue. Well, no. I live in a small town and things seem to book wayyyyyyy ahead so I thought I best pull finger out and get planning.

I don't need to plan the whole shindig now, but a rough theme is what I need to know, so then I can book venue accordingly. Thing is though, I don't know what theme I want. Can you hit with some themes please? I would much appreciate it

I will even send you an invite if your nice Party is winter, and I live South so it has to be indoors. That is the only tip I can give. lol

So, what would be a fab theme to have? What parties have you been to where the themes were super cool fun and what were they?

I would love a karaoke night and hire a machiney thing and we can all make dicks of ourselves, but I don't know if that would be a goer lol..

Ideas please my fellow party animals.

I am just about to have one its a gowns gloves & tiaras ( men dress to suit)

last year I had a 18 centry theme

Hows about an 80's night , mainly because its quite possible most people will still have clothing stashed away from that era , and maybe add a "neighbours" theme to it too , you can play old 80's music ( wa wa nee , michael jackson , george michael , pseudo echo , thompson twins etc , have 80's stlye decorations ( balloons and streamers ) , big punch bowl and bowls of potato chips!!!

Maybe even do "pass the parcel" , and pin the tail on the donkey ( find a volenteer for this!!! )

Break the ice with a Flirt Party that’s cheeky and fun for all. Here’s some advice and tips for holding a Flirt Party that your guests will surely love.

A flirt party is also a great way to introduce single friends to one another.

Costume Suggestions

To add a bit of fun to the night, make it a costume party with the theme of famous couples such as Cleopatra and Anthony, Romeo and Juliet, etc. Select costumes for the boys and girls and send the details to diff people, not knowing who their costumed partner will be.

Another great costume theme is to have guests arrive dressed as famous lotharios and Seductresses such as Casanova, Don Juan, Aphrodite, Catherine the Great, and more.

Tell guests to dress as seductively as they can. Holding a lingerie party is a great way to have fun. Guests can dress up in silk teddies, boxers, seductive bras and more.

Decorations

Add mood lighting by dimming the lights and set a cosy atmosphere by placing candles about the house.

Arrange throw rugs about the house along with cushions. Try and set the mood for people to talk amongst themselves or sneak away for a discreet chat.

Set the mood with music by well known romantics such as Barry White, Burt Bacharach or Dean Martin. Lounge music is always good for a mellow laid back feel.

Food Suggestions

Serve luscious food that’s seductive and rich. Oysters are an obvious favourite for all romantics. Caviar and champagne would also be a nice touch.

Set candles about the food table and try to provide a lavish spread of food. Avoid messy food so the eager hopefuls can make their best impression.

Games & Activities

Spin the bottle is a perfect game for a flirt party and a good way to break the ice among people.

Truth or Dare Chocolates:
Prepare chocolates by melting both white and dark chocolate in separate bowls.

On a sheet of foil, paint the white chocolate in the shapes of T and D for Truth and Dare.

When the white chocolate has set, add the dark chocolate over the letters to make chocolate drops.

Offer them face down to the guests so they don’t know whether they’ll get Truth or Dare.

Before eating the chocolate they have to rise to the challenge of whatever they have picked.

For inspiration try using the following characters and themes:

Don Juan
Casanova
Anthony & Cleopatra
Romeo & Juliet
Catherine the Great
Madonna
Warren Beatty

Yeh yeh I am draggin this up again.. because I can! laugh

I bought invitations to print up and I am bored tonight so thought I was print some up and test them out.

I have been googling for hours for wording for the invites but nothing really comes up. I want it catchy (a poem even?) and something that doesn't just say time/date/theme etc

The theme was hollywood but now it's just celebrities since I have Pink and marilyn monroe coming LOL

if anyone with creative flair can help me I would love u forever grin
