Well Hi guys thought ide like a little feedback on this topic...
Ive recently been approached by a man 34 I am 45 nearing 46.
He is a very together 34 owns his own home good career etc Never married no children ,he cannot have children ,but likes them .
I am going to meet him on friday for lunch.
Ok so my question to you all is
does an age gap of over ten years really matter, has anyone been involved with a younger or older person, what are the benifits(apart from the obvious)lol, what are the downsides.
This man says he is looking for a long term relationship.
& the fact that I am older actually appeals because i am settled & Know what I want..
Ok so there it is ...

I was 22 and he was 37 so yes, I have been there. If it feels right, go for it. Don't worry about what people think.

Our relationship didn't work for other reasons. Nothing to do with age at all.

Having dinner with the man won't hurt at all. Go and have fun. I am sure you are the type that doesn't feel your age and having this younger man will only do more wonders for ya. wink

I think he sounds nice with his head screwed on and he likes that you know what you want, which shows he knows what he wants too. YOU!..

What have you got to lose? hug

Ok Kizzy, from two marriages - one, lasted 14 years because of my refusal to admit that i wanted out, we were same age, a gap of a few months only.

then 11 years, 11 year gap, and ended because she called it quits and married someone else. I would not blame the age gap though, it was distance and a few other issues tied in with her kids.

My opinion? go for it if it feels right - we only get one go at life, it is not a trial run - this is it

Hi Kizzy,
It happens! It also depends on the individual case, so to speak.
I'm 55 (male) and I certainly prefer a younger woman, 40+.
In Europe, one finds that it is more common than in Oz to see older men with younger women...in serious relationships.Europe is much more mature about these kinds of matters.
This may not be any use to you, but I will never forget a quote I saw/heard in a documentary, which by the way had nothing to do with age difference as the main subject matter of the documentary, BUT it just happened that the interviewer asked the female how she felt being with an older man. Her response was: "I 'd rather be an older man's sweetheart, than a younger man's slave".
Best wishes,

Kizzy.. I've been with a guy 12 yrs younger and the age didn't matter at all.
It sounds good to me especially the part where he can't have kids (sad) but better chances of it working if you don't want anymore kids either.
Go for itthumbs up

An age gap doesn't matter all that much. What does matter is if there is a generation gap coz that's something that really can't be bridged.

You wont know that until you get to know him... so all you can do is meet him and find out.

Enjoy. wine

My views on this are well documented, I'm 50 in two weeks time, the squeeze is 36.

My previous partner of 10 years was also considerably younger than myself, were were happy for the 10 years together before he died.

I have never had a serious relationship with anyone who has not been at least 12 years younger than myself.

[size=6]What counts is happiness, its one hell of a short life and you should live it with courage and passion.

Kizzy you got the passion now grab the courage and I'll buy me a new hat teddybear

kizzy27 I have been in several relationship with younger women even though it's not something I actively seek and I think that two adults willingly and happily sharing their lives can be hard enough without looking for reason to find fault with.34 is a grown man (you might as well be talking about height as age)I say if some one gives you a beautiful gift say thank and don't waste time on when it was made LIFE TO BE ENJOYED together

Age makes no difference in a relationship. If its meant to be, then it is. Since my marraige breakup I have been with a 22 year old and a 47 year old (and some in between). My current "interest" is 25. We are having a great time getting to know each other and the age difference has never been an issue for either of us. (I'm 40 next month) If you click, go for it.
