Well here in Ireland its 11.42 morning and sunny for once.

I dont think any of us really expect to meet Mr/Mrs right here, its just nice to flirt a little, broaden our circle of aquantances and its nice to hang out here if the pubs a bit too far away or your in danger of becoming an alcholic.

Coming on here is just opening up the opportunities to meet someone, or someone who knows someone who may be interested in meeting up did that come out right?

I have one thing from this site that has really helped me, when I started here, I had been very isolated, - you all know my story by now, my partner died in 2000 and our mutual best friend who was in the same accident was seriously injured; I spend until 2005 nursing him 24/7,in my remotely located farm, until I got leukemia; our friend died in 2006 and I got the cure for the leukemia in late 2007.

I had forgotton how to flirt, to chat and to laugh. Now thanks to the folk - maily on the Aus/NZ forum, I can do all this again. it has given me a safe environment in which to learn to communicate again; not well but at least I don't mind making an idot of myself - just so long as I am the best idiot I can be.

So it depends on your own circumstances, but its nice to know you can drop in here to laugh, cry or just for a quick drink.

While I do go offline, (again in 9 days) when I make it back to NZ for a bit more of a business/holiday, I don't think I will ever completely disappear.

I think it's time you had a drink.

How long is too long??.. I have been here around 2 years now. Not one date from here. I think I am passed my use by date already

Is there a time limit?

I guess if your here looking for the perfect match then I guess there would have to be a time limit where you say for example.. ok.. been here for 6 months and haven't met 'the one' so then maybe you try different ways to meet someone whether that be joining other sites or groups or whateva.

If your here looking to find people to just have a laugh with and enjoy their banter whether that be via forums or chatrooms.. then I guess it lasts as long as you are enjoying yourself

Being a long term user of chatrooms and forums and such (ie 10yrs approx) I have come and gone from various sites for various reasons. Sometimes real life takes over and takes up your time.. or you get caught in the backlash of chatroom bitchiness (yep unfortunately experience has proven it is the women who do this ) because for some reason people take ownership of the regulars and .. I'm not quite sure what but its like they feel threatened by newcomers because the men focus their attention on a newbie or their 'friends' get on well with someone unknown.. I don't know if I am explaining myself right or not here so please understand that.. hard to say exactly what you mean via this means of communication (again another reason why people leave sites,, misunderstandings are common haha) I don't mean to upset anyone or attack anyone in these forums so please don't take it personally
