blondeaozichick: Q: In the day and age of the internet and internet dating, adult chatrooms etc..

do you think it is possible to fall in love with someone you chat to, email, talk to on the phone etc etc before you have even met?

Okay, who is it? laugh

Twodawgz: Well it ain't happened to me but i don't believe it is possible to fall in love with someone you never met face to face. I do believe you can fall in love with the person that they are portraying to you, the person you might want them to be or think them to be, the person that is online or on the phone maybe be similar to the one you have conjured up in your psyche , but certainly not the same person as when your standing face to face with them, exploring and interacting and feeling...love is not something that grows through emails or phone conversations. It is something that requires touch and passion in one another's eyes..
to be touched by love you need to be touched..

i think it is possible to fall in love with how someone portrays themself, but i know from experience how easy it is for someone to lie to you.........

I am with Dawgs on this one, apparently we are attracted to pheremones (hope I spelt that correctly) and we cant smell through our monitors. I think we can get lucky but I don't think we can rely on what we are fed through this means of communication.

Well if such intellectual reading as ....

Why the one you fancy never fancies you.. Murphy's Laws of Love,

is to be believed then...

Our first reaction is from our hormones. Our cerebral cortex came along later and tried to make sense of love. The other things that lead us to love (apart from smell) is clear skin, symmetrical eyes, excellent poise, and the same inter-occular distance as each other.

Having said that and crushed all the romantics.. I think that over the net one call fall into interest, into lust, into friendship, I do believe that love comes later after meeting when all of the above fall into play.
