blondeaozichick: Q: In the day and age of the internet and internet dating, adult chatrooms etc..

do you think it is possible to fall in love with someone you chat to, email, talk to on the phone etc etc before you have even met?

Yes if love is what you are seeking.

I think its possible, but you have to meet to make sure that the spark is still there when you are face to face. My ex met his new partner that way, but I'm still waiting.

It's possible some people communicate better via the internet allowing their personality to shine (or suck) as the case may be.

Thought I'd have my 5c worth.
Yes it is possible, because the ways of communicating nowadays is far better than ever before. The 2 parties concerned would get to know one another, I feel. The relationship may take longer to blossom into love however. Just my thoughts.

Speaking from personal experience, no, you can't fall in love with someone you have never met. I wouldn't see it as a genuine love, but more a lust for what they are portraying themselves to be (as one other person has said in this thread).

It is not until you have met them in person that you can truly begin to see who they are, and whether or not they are the same person they portray on the internet. Only then, do I believe that you can say you are "in love" with that person.
